NOTE: Signup for the MMFRPG: Season 2 is now closed. However, you may still join the discussion thread and voice your desire to join Season 3 there. Season 3 signups will open once Season 2 has finished.

Do you like crack? Fluff? Drama?

Does the word "crossover" make you smile?

Do you demand things to be AWESOME?

Do you like to RP?

Do you have too much time on your hands?

If you answer "Yes" to any of these questions, then this RP is for you! The premise is simple: Character X wakes up in a strange City which they have no way of leaving - like a closed space. They eventually become resigned to their fate and start to try building a new life in this strange place. Oh, yeah, and every so often, weird things happen - events known as Curses. For example, it rains fish, or everyone gains go-karts, or everyone suddenly suffers amnesia. There's a mysterious, gigantic Roulette at the center of the City... what will happen when it stops spinning?

This free-form RPG is the sequel to the original MMFRPG, though you don't necessarily have to archive binge the previous one to start playing in this one. Existing characters from just about all fandoms are welcome; some important rules are listed below:

  • Permitted characters encompass those from visual media, literature, video games, and other such published franchises. Original Characters are not permitted.
    • Customizable characters from certain video games (example: the protagonists of the Persona series, the Vault Dwellers, etc.) are permitted; however, you must post a concrete list of their personality aspects, skills, abilities and such so that they may be gauged under the Super Weight classification.
    • In case anyone starts asking about the OCs already in the game, they were brought in during the beginning of the RPG, and have proven to be a bit more trouble than they're worth. They've been kept in the game to respect their players' wishes, but have been relegated to NPC status.
    • Webcomic characters are okay; for fanfic characters, you must confer with the GMs to see if said character may be permitted.
    • Remember, this is the Massive Multi-Fandom RPG; an OC would defeat the purpose of it being Multi-Fandom.
  • As per the classification used on the Super Weight page, Player Characters are only permitted to use up to Lottery Weight-powered beings. Deus Weight and above are the jurisdiction of the current Game Master.
  • All players are only allowed either one character, or two if both characters are part of a chemistry that nearly wouldn't work without the other (examples: Sam and Max, Caim and Angelus).
    • If you think you're up to handling two major characters at once and giving them both good Character Development, then you're welcome to do so; otherwise, we suggest you stick with one character if you think you may have trouble with more.
    • If you show excellent writing skills, RPing capability and a good sense of balance and pace, you may bring in a second player character later on with a GM's permission.
  • You are allowed to bring Mooks with your character only if appropriate (examples: Darth Vader and a contingent of stormtroopers, Bowser and his Koopa minions). Other named cast characters of whatever universe you pluck your primary player character from are not allowed, unless they fall under the description above.
  • To discourage randomly switching to a new player character, all players are only allowed to instantly switch once. After that, any subsequent switches require that the player at least continue playing their nth character for two game days before being allowed to switch again. Also, depending on the setting, there may be other, in-game penalties to switching characters.
    • Please be considerate enough to announce in Discussion if you're planning to switch, so that other players and GMs alike will not be taken by surprise.
  • Important, named NPCs who may serve a role for an extended amount of time (Big Bads, Rivals, etc.) must first be run through a GM before they are permitted into the game.
    • The Muggle NPCs already in the City are available for use by any of the players. If you need a random, one-shot NPC to assist in your character's cool/funny/dramatic moments, you are free to use them in your posts. Other than the main, overarching plot, this is a free-form RPG, after all; be creative!
    • Please be reasonable with both how many important NPCs you bring in, and how you use the Muggles of the City. If the situation seems to have too many named characters running around, you may want to hold off on bringing in your own sub-plot-related NPCs until the current scenario clears up more.
    • Remember that NPCs are not the main focus of the story - the PCs are. Try not to put too much focus on NPCs you bring in over your actual PC.
  • Whenever possible, autohitting (posting that your character hit another character without him/her even responding) is not allowed. Allow the character you are attempting to hit/bathe/force-feed meatloaf to respond to your attack themselves. If there are problems, the GM (or any appointed sub-GMs) will have the final say.
  • Posting etiquette, posting etiquette: during combat situations, post once, then wait for whoever is controlling the opposing party to respond to you first before posting again. If you have anything you may want to add, there's always the Edit button in your last post - but at the same time, try to keep your character's combat-based actions fairly reasonable. For example, we shouldn't see, say, Maria launch her cardinal at one enemy, double-jump to another level, kick another enemy there, and then suddenly double-jump to yet another level to attack another enemy - all in the span of 5 seconds. Failure to adhere to this after about three warnings will result in a temporary depowering of your character - they will lose one of their abilities, an effect that will stack as the player continues to defy warnings given to them. The GMs may give abilities back, however, if said player improves after a while.
    • I know that sometimes, players will suddenly disappear mid-battle, but that's just what happens in this game, unfortunately - you'll just have to be patient. This game isn't going anywhere, after all.
  • If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask any of the other players.

Let’s all have fun RPing AWESOME things together! ^_^

Could you provide links to who those characters are? Also, are Kenji and Haraki inseparable characters (for example, Sam and Max from the previous season)? If not, then you may only use one or the other.

There is no Dragonback Wiki, so I can't really post any links. However, I'm pretty sure I posted a description of them awhile ago in the Discussion thread. I can go hunt it down if you need it.

Wayne Holden, same equipment as the last time I was in one of these.

I am a proud member of the Western Federation's Anti-Japan Media Task Force. My work is very important.

Hey, rallyfan! Good to see you signing up. You might want to post a rundown of Holden's equipment anyway, not all of us were around last time.

Sorry, Shindenmaru: from what I read on those character pages Ominae provided, those two are rivals, and thus can work on their own instead of having to be together. Pick only one, please.
