That's because Oatchi is strong.
A more serious answer is (spoilers for endgame stuff) Oatchi is likely descended from a creature that can breathe oxygen just fine, though Oatchi growing a leaf tail does seem to suggest even he needed some time to "adjust."
Killed the second queen bulborb today, the one that actually spawns enemies? Mostly I just chucked bomb rocks at it until it died, because its babies kept eating my pikmin and I couldn't get them out of the way in time.
New interview with Game Informer and directo Yuji Kando and planning director Yutaka Hiramuki :
The one I wanted to bring up:
Kando: After the development for Pikmin 3 ended, we started development for Pikmin 4 as a small team.
As we made several attempts and tried out various things, there were moments when we could see the game take shape, but since we had to prioritize other projects, we weren't able to create the development team framework needed to complete the game. But the fruits of our labor during that time lead to the result of what Pikmin 4 is today.
Hiramuki: We know the fans were worried since Pikmin 4 was taking a long time, but thanks to their patience, we were able to make a game that is enjoyable for many people.
So I finished Pikmin 4, what does telling Bernard you're ready to leave do?
It replays the ending. Different dialogue will play depending on how much you've accomplished, and if you finished Olimar's Shipwreck Tale, the S.S. Dolphin will be added to the ending.
Personally, I'd prefer if the 'net was a little friendlier, but you know the GIFT...4 sold 2.61 million in its first two and a half months.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."Already the best-selling game in the series. Nice.
I feel mixed on that, on the one hand I'm glad the series is doing well, but on the other hand I feel like 4 is the most antithetical Pikmin game and wouldn't want it to become the series standard.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! Can you explain what you mean?
Personally, I'd prefer if the 'net was a little friendlier, but you know the GIFT...For the game that popularized the term "dandori", it feels like it has the least emphasis on dandori outside of the challenges specifically labeled as such. The rest of the game feels almost deliberately designed to stifle and discourage that sort of multitasking and planning Pikmin 3 executed so wonderfully.
Separating the player character and Oatchi so they can multitask is much more cumbersome and restricting than it was in Pikmin 2 and 3, and more often than not travelling as a single group just feels like the more effective and convenient way to do things. Caves, like in Pikmin 2, slow the game down tremendously and turn it into more of a dungeon crawler. Night expeditions and other "minigames" all being mandatory parts of the main story discourages quick replayability compared to 1 and 3.
I had fun with 4 as its own separate beast, but 3 definitely felt more Pikmin-y to me by a long shot and I'd prefer Pikmin 5 take more cues from it than from 4.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Appreciated, although it does seem a bit early for it.
Guess who’s been playing Pikmin 4 and is having way too much fun.
She/Her | Currently cleaning Char CloneI'm trying to complete all side missions, but Kingsly and Francois don't seem to end and I cleared out every above ground enemy's corpses.
I don't think you can ever complete those two sidequests. I think they're meant to be infinitely repeatable so you can always have a source of Raw Materials.

Okay then.
Also, (don't know if anybody knows this), but giving Louie all the creatures he requested will result in him giving you an item called the extra hand. It lets your captain carry 1 unit of weight.
Glow Pikmin might actually be the most alien creatures in the entire series.
Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut.4 is at 3.33 million sold.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."I got Pikmin 1+2 on Switch. Hopefully Pikmin 2 is better on Switch. The original game was barely passable and that was mostly due to lacking a "restart floor" option for caves.
Why waste time when you can see the last sunset last?A bit late, but I'd say the Wraiths are pretty close if not more alien.
I write stupid crap about naked people. The Plasm Wraith, I think, is much more alien than anything else in the franchise. Bordering on being an Outside-Context Problem.

Why waste time when you can see the last sunset last?True, the two Wraiths feels less like cartoon-y critters and more like something out of a fantasy, with one being literally made of normal water and the other being able to shapeshift into just about anything.
The glow Pikmin are made of light, float, and can't even be truly killed. On top of being able to merge into a spirit bomb.
It's hard to say one's weirder than the other.
Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut.
But why is Oxygen not poisonous to Oatchi, but it is to the rest of the cast?
