There's also the matter of Shirley having never had any of her previous prophecies turn out wrong; I have the distinct feeling that something will happen in the next chapter or the one after it that will ultimately lead to the people of Fishman Island asking Luffy to destroy the island (because it's the only way to avert the iminent disaster), thereby fulfilling the prophecy.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Luffy eats all the food on the island, which threatens to starve out the island and forcing them up to land.
Or... maybe... Noah is a time machine? Joy Boy (which I've assumed for awhile is a name Gold Roger had) breaks out of the ship, wearing the very same straw hat Luffy wears, and destroys the island.
Something like that.
I'm pretty sure the concept of Law having limits was a translation error. -WanderlustwarriorOr maybe the prophecy will be fulfilled when every fishman leave the island to live with the other human ?
Which is what I thought.
Jeez, Adannor, I had to doublecheck to see if your avatar was wearing clothes.
Mashima isn't a plagiarist! He's never even read a magma before.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyI would prefer Joy Boy be unrelated to Roger, personally. Or at least not him directly.
All signs point to him being Gold Roger, so far anyway. Honestly I think we have enough legacy characters as it is, and I'm really interested to see what all Gold Roger did at this point.
I'm pretty sure the concept of Law having limits was a translation error. -WanderlustwarriorWasn't the note on the Poneglyph from Roger to someone else?
I forgot about that. Maybe his heart was in sync with the rock?

The sad, REAL American dichotomyI think it was from Roger to whoever came upon the Poneglyph it was written on - of course, that also begs the question of how the hell he managed to carve his message on what is said to be indestructible stone.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. Also where is Caribou? Has Oda finally forgotten something?
Zoro learned to pretty much cut anything based off hearing the "rhythms all things have." It wouldn't be a long shot to say Gold Roger knew that, too.
Or. We've been preoccupied with a huge battle, so Caribou has been put to the shadows while he does his own thing.
I'm pretty sure the concept of Law having limits was a translation error. -WanderlustwarriorI don't like Caribou. I really hope he doesn't become the New World's "Buggy" character (since Buggy's apparently working for the Government now).
Roger didn't carve it on the poneglyph itself, but on the wall it was embedded in. Hell, there wouldn't be any place on the poneglyph - it's all carved up by original authors already.
Do we have any idea about how long Noah has been sitting down there? Or even how old Neptune is? Both would help with speculation about Joy Boy. (Neptune did speak to him personally, right? It wasn't just something passed down to him?)
No food for the beastmaster. He feeds on the blood of his prey.It might be reasonable to say Neptune is, at this point, around 50 years old. His eldest son is, what, maybe 25? And Neptune himself seems pretty old.
Assuming, of course, fishmen/mermaids don't age really weird. Shirahoshi is 18, if I recall, and she seems aged like a regular human, despite her height.
I'm pretty sure the concept of Law having limits was a translation error. -WanderlustwarriorNoah doesn't really smell like anything Roger could've been involved in, to me.
I mean, what could he have possibly been doing with a ship that size?

He needed a ship for his ship, obviously.
I'm pretty sure the concept of Law having limits was a translation error. -WanderlustwarriorSo he could carry everything in one piece.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyHappy Belated Thanksgiving!
To hold all of Roger's hos.
A friend is someone you trust to help you move. A best friend is someone you trust to hide the body.I think the Joy Boy thing is something that was passed down to Neptune. It just seems more likely since the Void Century was 800 years ago.

We're noticing folks posting links to Manga scan sites. These sites regularly distribute copyrighted material without permission or payment. We're all about people making a living from creating works of fiction. Don't link to scan sites / pirated material.

...Really? I didn't have any idea that was policy.
Or is this new and there is now a thing to clear out the thousands of links to scan sites in the work pages?
A friend is someone you trust to help you move. A best friend is someone you trust to hide the body. Not linking in the work pages is an old policy. It is related to the Google Incident, I believe. Google don't effect the foruns, so such rule have never been as strict over here.
So that was just entirely random?
A friend is someone you trust to help you move. A best friend is someone you trust to hide the body.Maybe they're deciding to enforce it now.
Would not be surprised if all the leaders of the New Fishmen Pirates take another E.S. and go crazy, forcing the crew to work together for one ultimate attack.
Or they just get eaten by Sea Kings, because it's absolutely terrifying to see them acting so gently.
