I theory I've had for a while is that One Piece contains proof that the World Government is ruled by a single person. It would explain both the laughter and why other people might not find it funny.
De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.A lot of details seem to be clicking into place for a really big plot-bomb soon, I feel like. Joy Boy, Sun God Nika, CP0, the sky people, the Lunarians being massacred to make room for Mariejois...
x3 That is actually backed up by Roger wishing that he could have lived in another time
You lost! However, he wished to have lived at Joyboy's time so he could meet him
There isn't an impossible dream, there are only people who give upAnd with Kaidos comment about Joyboy, he seems to be someone who be reincarnated, or maybe some Legacy Character. I read that quote as Roger regretting not living longer, not that the lived to late.

You lost!I wonder how Buggy got away from the marines.
Probably due to being Beneath Notice. He was just one of the cabin boys, after all.
Disgusted, but not surprisedYou know, we've now seen both Zoro and Sanji use their Surume attacks in Wano. Zoro used Crossing The Six Paths on Prometheus on the roof and Sanji used Bien Cuit: Grill Shot on Queen in the most recent chapter.
Surume? As in dried squid?
Oh, right, it had a name.

As in Surume the Kraken Strawhats met while travelling to Fish-Man Island.
I assure you, I'm a completely trustworthy person.Wonder if we’ll see him again. Have heard suggestions that one of the Straw Hats will use him as a mount to fight Sanjuan Wolf; can’t decide if I like that or turning the Sunny into a Megazord better.
Sunny Megazord RIDING Surume as a mount!
Also, something funny I saw someone point out, for a few minutes during Dressrosa, everyone in the world forgot Nico Robin existed. Considering how MASSIVELY important she's been emphasized to be in Wano, that must have been surreal.

I meant in the present day after the Warlord system was abolished.
Now I'm thinking of those times the Red Dragon Thunderzord rode the White Tigerzord. And I'm pretty sure someone has ridden the Q-Rex at least once.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyFinished the Skypiea Saga and started Water 7. It might be better in hindsight but I wasn't really feeling it until Noland's backstory tied back in towards the end. Like I enjoyed the buildup on Jaya but I didn't really find Skypiea itself all that interesting. The setting didn't really feel like it mattered or all that different from the regular ocean until Enel's plan was revealed and to be honest I didn't really care for Enel himself or his war against the Shandians/the war between the Shandians and the rest of Skypiea. Noland's backstory being revealed towards the saga's end did help with caring about the stakes but it came pretty late. Gan Fall is a pretty solid character though and I do like Cricket (Though not his companions.). There's also the reveal from when Robin read the stone at the end but that's more of an overarching lore thing.
Maybe I just had too high expectations but I don't really get the hype for this saga. I've seen suggestions to give the series a chance up to Skypiea (Though maybe that's for people who weren't hooked by Arlong Park or Alabasta? I've also seen suggestions to give the series up until the mid forties in terms of episodes which would be the end of Arlong Park.) and that if you don't enjoy it One Piece isn't for you but it's honestly my least favorite saga thus far. It doesn't really have an arc as good as Arlong Park or the actual Alabasta arc in my opinion. Again, maybe it's better in hindsight but right now I don't really see the appeal.
As for Water 7 I don't have much to say yet. Only just started round two of the Davy Back Fight but I'm hoping Robin gets more fleshing out since she was kind of in the background last saga. The current arc/part feels like a foregone conclusion since I don't expect to lose any of the crew this early (Even if they were to come back later.) but since sagas are made up of multiple arcs I'm not going to let that bother me too much. I'm just having fun with it for now though I do wish the stakes were higher/there were more to the competitions than there are so far.

I do agree that Noland is the most interesting part of Skypeia proper. Other than that, it's rather disconnected from the rest of the series, Mantra aside. I suppose some stuff might come into play more later, but for now...
Honestly, I would have put Alabasta as the bellwether arc. Regardless, I definitely encourage you to stick with it through this next arc.
Oh God! Natural light!Man the art was so simple back then
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Did the hat become bigger?
There isn't an impossible dream, there are only people who give upStraw Hats naturally grow over time. That's thec whole reason we even have the giant hat Imu visits.
Skypiea is one of those arcs you come to appreciate later on... set up so much of OP. Don't understand why so many people don't like it, Thriller Bark I see why though
she/herIn fact its the opposite I cant believe you were never told just to skip it, Chariot.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.Skypeia feels somewhat disconnected from the plot at the time and its one of the longer arcs in the series, so I kind of get why its not as well remembered compared to the more high stake arcs like Water 7/Enies Lobby and Marineford.
Its one of those arcs that tends to be appreciated upon reexamination.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.
It may be the the thing that made them laugh was they just missed the window for whatever is going on. Like "we did all this and we're too early."
