I am referring to this.
There may not be a direct market by the time the prevailing circumstances are resolved, so don’t force that upon him.
Also, this is why people read manga in droves and not Western comics anymore.
I continue to remain fascinated at it all, but I just want to see the giant One Piece ad in Times Square, in every subway station, on billboards, etc.

Lewis Tan is Chinese, not Japanese. He would make for a cool Zoro, but it's not completely accurate.
IIRC he wasn’t cast, he’s just been very publicly campaigning for it. Sometimes that goes nowhere. I know Tan does like to publicly campaign for roles because he’s a physically talented actor and that’s probably the best way to get his name out there, and considering the money, it’s a big role if he lands it.
The Marineford arc made number 2 on Vinii Tube's list of Top Ten Shounen Arcs (@ 11:34).

Now I love Marineford, I think it is great, but I wouldn't say it is One Piece at its best.
That would be Whole Cake Island and Water 7. Which comes first is something I'm still figuring out.
I don't know if they're gonna race cast for the live action, but even if they do, they're definitely not gonna cast by country. That would be a lot of effort and very limiting just to be accurate to a what-if question in extra material that by Oda's own admission he didn't put much thought into. He didn't bother to pick an actual country for Usopp for God's sake. It's really not worth it.
I liked Whole Cake Island? But really? REALLY?
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.I was thinking the same when I read "marineford is the second favorite arcs of all anime" (seriously, among all of great One Piece arcs, that one?) Whole Cake Island is much better than Marineford

There isn't an impossible dream, there are only people who give upI find the Vinsmokes alone to kinda prevent Whole Cake from being considered one of the best.
Well Marinford is one of the most beloved & famous of the OP arcs so it being considered the best is unsurprising.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."But there are so many muuch better arcs ... seeig Marineford voted as "the best" makes me lose faith in the fandom >_<
I mean, Ace's stupid death alone prevents it from being one of the best

There isn't an impossible dream, there are only people who give upI've always had a soft spot for Drum myself. I also consider it a good jumping on point for someone who wants to try the series but not necessarily start at the beginning (short arc, disconnected from the bulk of the main story [so less Continuity Lockout], and introduces our little mascot Chopper).

You are one of my crowd man! I love the Drum Arc and its super nice to intruduce newbies to!

It’s defintily in the top 10 for me. Some of the most bombastic moments in the series.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Of course, not dismissing the others' opinions (to me is among the flop 5)
Strangely enough, in Italy Marineford suffers from Critical Dissonance. Like, the fans love it as much as in the west, while the critics despise it. The ones who claim One Piece's quality declined, cite Marineford as the beginning of said decline. Other's criticize the arc's clumsy writing, the inability of Oda to handle the cast, Ace's death, and having the worst flashback
The only slighty positive review I read (from an Italian critic) of is from Sommobuta who, said to have hated the arc reading it chapter by chapter (In his words "it promised epicness without actually showing it and unlike most arcs which offer many levels of lecture in nearly every chapter, this one didn't") but liked it after reading it as a whole, claiming it's "Oda's big trolling to the fandom" (in his words: "He presents many cool characters, all of the top players, but in the end he shows nothing of them")
I tend to agree with Buta, though I loved everything post Ace's death

There isn't an impossible dream, there are only people who give upThe best one is Water 7/Ennies Lobby.
I certainly thought Marineford was one of the best arcs.
It and Water 7/Enies Lobby are the peak of OP for me (at least so far).
This song needs more love.To me the top arcs are Water-Lobby, Dressrosa, Jaya-Skypiea, Whole Cake and Alabasta... With Wano so far promising to join them

There isn't an impossible dream, there are only people who give upI dont have much love for Mariford but I love that Jinbe was a major badass in it!
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here. What's the problem with me thinking WCI is one of my favs?
Anyway, Skypea always felt like the weakest point in One Piece.
A lot of people complain about Dressrosa but for me the biggest issue with that one is that it's really ovetstuffed.
Skypea, to this day, feels kinda irrelevant, which I think is a much worse problem.
@slim: No lie I like the Vinsmokes because with the whole focus of the arc being the theme of Family of Choice they served a good contrast with the Straw Hats.
They certainly have a more interesting powerset compared to the other super-hitmen group the CP 9, even if it's not used much.
And they're so much fun to hate.

There is no problem I actually love the arc. In fact it is the fact that I like it and you agree that surprises me.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.Hey hey, don't you dare insult Skypiea XD. Aside of being important for the World-Building (plus it showed that Roger read the poigne gliffe) it has a wonderful story, a cool villain one of the best flashbacks and the ring of the bell is one of my personal favorite moment in One Piece at all
I like the Vinsmokes because I love their concept of Nazi-Sentais, plus, yeah, they're good foils not only for the blood family/family of choice, but also a foil to Sanji: His father wanted him to be a soldier, just like his brothers are, while Sanji preferred cooking. Plus Sanji is nice (mostly) while they're a jerk because...genetic manipulation (If I were to criticize them, is that their lack of emotions is contradicted a few times)
Edited by fishysaur on Mar 25th 2020 at 9:48:11 AM
There isn't an impossible dream, there are only people who give upI actually dont like Worldbuilding much at all... yet I STILL love Skypiea and consider it one of the golden era arcs.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.It also has that stupid ball guy fight. Enel's Quirky Mini Boss Squad kinda sucked.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaire
I can't answer because I got no clue wtf those are.
I would, however, read One More Day and All-Star Batman and Amazons Attack one after the other
