Not going to lie, starting to think Law is kind of an idiot.
Like, you threatened Doflamingo, killed at least two of his major allies, and made him publicly give up his status... and you didn't think he was going to try to trick and kill you?
This song needs more love.Wasn't that the whole point? That Katakuri's family was projecting their ideal image onto him and it didn't reflect who he was in reality?
About some things, sure. But I think "Katakuri has never lost!" was definitely something Oda added to make Luffy beating him more impressive, and it didn't work for me.
I think that's being a little cynical on Oda's part; the only ones who hyped up Katakuri's bounty were his family. Katakuri never talked himself up like that, and sure enough, it was an image he had built to protect his family.
I think it's fair to criticize a lot of Oda's writing, but I think it's fair to give credit where it's due for it as well.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Ii didn't say Katakuri was written poorly, I actually think he was one of the best written characters in the arc, I just didn't care for that aspect or what I think Oda was trying to do with it.
I wonder where Kata is considering he wasn’t on Big Mom’s ship apparently.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Popular theory is that he's guarding the home turf, and will get bushwhacked by Teach for the Road Poneglyph.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."I was saying that I don't think Oda was trying to do that at all.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. And that's fine, but I do. It's not that big a deal to me, just one thing I didn't really care for.
At least it wasn't as ridiculous as Lucci's hype was for a pre-timeskip guy.
I am now finished with Zo, the land of flashbacks. Good stuff. I like having a shorter arc with lower stakes, even if the things being talked about are super important lore stuff. Knowing what happens on Whole Cake island, it's funny to think that Jack, Nekomamushi, and Inuarashi are all around the same level of power as Katakuri and Gear 4 Luffy. The Mink kings are no joke, either of them would whoop Doflamingo's ass.
I like that Vivi retained some Charles Atlas Superpower from her time in Baroque Works and with the Straw Hats, enough that she can jump down from the crow's nest of a battleship and land on the deck unharmed.
Katakuri is Big Mom's Right Hand Mand. I'm pretty sure he's stronger than Jack, who still has King and Queen above him. He should be more comparable to Cracker.

I figure Kaido's men got their bounties through the Kidd method of murdering everyone violently. Katakuri kinda does the same but he's mostly restricted to Totland?
Secret SignatureFair enough, though the gap between Cracker and Katakuri isn't that wide.
Even with Jack, I don't think he's much weaker than Queen and King. When he's scolded by them, he's visibly angry and not submissive at all
Btw, after this flashback, I see some showing of the fire festival, partially because world-building, and partially to show some of the remaining players of this declared "big battle", like this samurai squad working for Orochi and the numbers of the beast pirates, I can see the latter facing off the straw hats

There isn't an impossible dream, there are only people who give upKing and Queen do seem to regard Jack as an incompetent however, and each other more as equals, so they really might be significantly stronger.
"...in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach."Thanks One Piece, for forcing the mental image of Bege and Chiffon having sex to produce that child upon me. I needed to stock up on Brain Bleach anyway. Also, I don't like that the baby has stubble.

No-one has sex in One Piece, it's all just storks. A man and a woman have a kiss with special emotions, and that alerts a stork in the baby sorting island who dispatches a baby over to them nine months later, same as how those seagulls manage to deliver newspapers to people who have the subscriptions, no matter where they are.
"...in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach."They all seem to regard the other two as incompetent
Think that among Big Mom children there is an half-dwarf...
Personally I love how Pez is so a tiny Capone (with his mother's hair) that even has a cigar-like pacifier XD
So Ace's stork got lost... that is actually more reasonable than the true explanatio

There isn't an impossible dream, there are only people who give upNo, I think King and Queen bicker and argue, but they don't consider the other incompetent. Jack they consider incompetent.
"...in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach."I thought you'd be more angry at the fact that he has a CIGAR! Luckily its only a toy in the anime.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.Even in the manga it's a pacifier, otherwise I would be angry. Child-Oden is the only child allowed to smoke
So Jack is like the younger brother everyone bully
There isn't an impossible dream, there are only people who give upWas this the anime version of the scene? Because I remember the manga version having Jack acting pretty submissive towards King and Queen.
You know, I wonder how long Oda planned for Sanji's Germa backstory. We know that he plans some major events and beats in advance. It can't be since Sanji was introduced, there's no hints of anything like that. Maybe the earliest was before Skypiea, with that line that Sanji was born in the North Blue, maybe that's when Oda decided that he wanted to expand Sanji's backstory before he met Zeff.
Theory: Robin's habit of imagining and admiring cute things in silence while also imagining extremely dark things and vocalizing it is a result of trauma from her backstory. She never got a chance to grow up and live a normal childhood, so she experiences childlike wonder at cute things. At the same time, the way she grew up living a perpetual life of fear leads her to automatically assume and be prepared for the worst possible outcomes of any given situation.
