There's nothing suggesting that being especially heinous wasn't all there was to it for Blackbeard's escapees.

Well, I think strenght is also a factor for the prison level, I mean, Jinbe was there and I don't think he did anything comparable to Crocodile (Causing a revolution while attempting to overthrow a kingdom and getting his hand on an ancestral weapon) and Doflamingo (Being on of the, if not the, most important people of the underwolrd and knowing a terrible secret about the world government)

But the real question is how did they put San Juan Wolf inside Impel down and how did he get out?

Also, when will we see more of the underwolrd? (At the end of Punk Hazard there were a lot of characters watching the events that we still have to meet)

Depends on how big Impel Down is compared to Marineford and larger islands. As I broke down here in this post, Wolf would be able to fit comfortably within Marineford's harbor, and Marineford is a fairly small island compared to some others we've seen.

Maybe they have a back entrance for giants, super-giants, and whatever Wolf is?

I just saw the "One piece report" (is in Italian, so I think no one would understand) that explains all the references found in chapter 910:

-The Koy (the giant carps) who are the famous carps, symbol of perseverance, of the legend which says that, if a carp manages to reach the top of the waterfall, it becomes a dragon (Like Magicarp->Gyarados)

- The "Komainu" (the pig-dog), a guardian lion. ( I also noticed how, from the size of the thousand's sunny, it shrunk to a little more than an average lion. I know Oda's isn't exactly consistet with the proportion but...)

-The white baboon is a double reference: 1)The white monkey: an ape with superhuman intelligence which fights legendary monsters and kidnaps women to add to his "harem collection" (maybe it kidnapped Nami or Carrot? The reporter himself speculated this) 2)The god "Hanuman" (not sure if spelled right), who has the appearance of the monkey and has magic weapons, among which, his favourite is a sword.

  • Also, both of them inspierd Sun Wukong, which inspired Dragon Ball, which inspired One Piece

-The octopus is a reference of the kurata mui who is basically the japanese equivalent of kraken. (also, a possible reference of the painting "Dream of a fisherman's wife" <- The Ur-Example of tentacle rape?)

-And then the various Shout-Out to many japanese paintings, who are important for the birth of mangas, many made by Okuzai (the reporter said that if Osamu Tezuka is the father of mangas, Okuzai is the grandpa)

Then he concluded saying that while it's a chapter "del cazzo" (aka. nothing special and even a bit pointless/stupid) it's also a good omage to Japanese culture

Dream of a fisherman's wife, even though it does involve tentacles is actually consensual.

Yeah, but I don't think even Oda can get away with hinting at tentacle action.

[up] I really hope he doesn't. So far he's done little fanservice (for manga's standards, at least) or at least, it's mostly "passive fanservice" (i.e. all the women have an hourglass body and/or wear fanservicey outfits but it stop here, there's no stupid and pointless shot that highlight cleavage or butt like in Fairy Tail)

I wonder how Shogun Orochi, who is evidently a staunch isolationist, came to be the lackey of an apparently foreign pirate lord, anyway?

Maybe Kaido was originally from Wano.

Also that incident with Zoro might be referring to this practice back in Japan, where samurai were given the right to strike down anyone of lower class. Man, that is brutal.

[up] I think Kaido is somehow related to Oars. Mmmmh, didn't know about it (but I'm also ignorant regarding Japanese traditions)

Little prediction: how many chapter are going to pass before all the straw hats (minus Jinbe) are finally reunited? I'd bet around 25

One thing that bugs me.

Bartholomew Kuma apparently used to be a king, and knwon as "the Tyrant". Aside of if his Red Baron is genuine or made up by the wolrd government to give him a bad image, if he was a king, why he looks poor as a kid?

[up][up] Probably the same reason Whitebeard did: he clawed his way to the top from poverty.

His country could also have suffered from paying the tax of the WG that they then hand over to the World Nobles to do whatever they want with.

Funny enough this reminds me Dresrosa was a poor country under Riku's family, which means they were likely so because of the WG "Give money to your lord and Masters the World Nobles" tax.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.

Yeah, the Tyrant title sounds a lot like WG propaganda.

[down]This probably could work with the English word "tyrant"(which I don't think it does, actually), but 暴君 is by definition an oppressive and abusive leader.

That or he was a benevolent tyrant, like Discworld's Lord Vetinari.

Well, Whitebeard became a pirate, not a king (though he could've subjugated a country like Doflamingo if he wanted) while Kuma, apparently was actually a king.

The "poor country" theory can be a good one, then we need to know why the World Government paid so much attention on Kuma and, apparently, even "punished" him by turining the cyborg into the celestial dragon's favorite toy.

Let's just say that this man is a mistery. Hes' been: a poor kid (who apparently read book and did some manual labour), a king, a pirate, a revolutionary, a Warlord (possibly to infiltrate the WG), the World Government's prototype for the pacifistas and now a chew toy.

Speaking of misterious characters, even Bonney is a complete mistery as she can be of any age and: she's (or more likely used to be) a pirate, she cried for Whitebeard's death, Akainu consider her really important (and she doesn't like him at all) and he even let her go (that or she escaped), knows personally Kuma and could be mistaken for sorbet kingdom's queen and possibly Blackbeard, who seems well informed about a lot of things, recognized her. This is really impressive for a character added at the last minute, halfway throught the story, per editor demand. (Though Oda could've used elements of a character he had already in mind)

Spoilers out. Among the interesting things are Luffy helps a little girl who can produce food from her body, and Hawkins is apparently one of Kaido's big three now.
