Technically Raidou 1 and 2 are the start of ALL SMT timelines. They did the whole timelines depending on the ending thing way before they shoehorned it into Ocarina of Time.
They also tried a lot of things on Japanese only cell phones in Japan. Which they did for everything including Persona as the wiki shows.
Including a Jack Bros sequel of all things.
Edit:IF and NINE are considered part of mainlime like SJ. They made a point of that in the Anniversary.

We do have to keep in mind though: it took awhile for Persona to become popular. Persona 1 had an infamously bad localization on the PS1, half of the Persona 2 duology never left Japan, and those games were pure JRPGs with no Social Links whatsoever.

Yep. They wanted P1 to take place in America. It was that kind of edit. All the names were changed. One major character even got a race lift and became African-American.
Also, the Snow Queen path was removed, so about half the game was inaccessible.
Health sure is versatile. It's possible to be both light-headed and dim-witted. At the same time, no less.

Devil Survivor can be rather fun, sometimes it can get aggravating (especially with those civilian escort battles), and the bosses require you to plan things out.

I sympathize with SMT fans, but they really need to learn how to vent better. But complaining is nothing new for Internet video game culture.

I played the DDS games and they basically blow Persona out of the water, especially since I recently found out I don't like classic Persona as much as I thought I did.
Ill give PQ 2 credit, it doesn't try to act like the P5 crew aren't the focus.
Unlike Ultimax that made the P3 route non-canon despite it being the better route.

It really isn't. The Q games are generally standalone storylines, so you're not missing anything super-important.

There's also the Devil Summoner/Soul Hackers games though technically same continuity as Raidou, Jack Bros (very first SMT the west ever got by the way), the Last Bible subseries, Majin Tensei, Devil's Colosseum, SMT Nine, SMT If..., bunch of stuff.
