Hetalia Dub Clip Online; LJ Community explodes

For all ya'll who aren't a member of the Hetalia Community, let me just say things got insane yesterday when news of this showed up.

So, what do ya'll think of the voices? Personally, from what I can hear I like everyone (except Spain, why is he Italian-sounding?) Also, some people seemed pissed about that Vic Mignogna guy being a part of it, but he seems like a pretty cool guy. (And Relationship Voice Actor, lol.)

They're pissed about Vic? I'm having trouble telling who's who with the quality of the audio here, but it sounds like Vic's playing America. They're crazy if that's the case. Vic is quite a good choice for America, assuming they don't go with Kyle Herbert.

If that's him playing China, they have more of a point.

Vic is Switzerland, ...Or So I Heard. It's an extended joke, Romi Paku played both Edward Elric and Switzerland, Vic played Ed, so I guess they thought it'd be funny if he was Swiss.

I f If you mute the first episode and play the clip it's a little easier.

America does sound familiar, but I'm pretty sure it's not Vic. Sounds more like Eric Vale or Sean Schemmel (who's still doing DBZK). I thought I was certain of Germany, but now I'm not so sure.

It's a Hetalia discussion on Live Journal. You're going to get a lot of Yaoi Fangirls with a combination like that. Yaoi fangirls tend to hate Vic Mignogna with a passion.

The dude doesn't like yaoi. Pretty outspoken about the subject from what I've heard...but keeps digging himself into that hole thanks to the infamous FMA miniskirt con line.

Apparently he made comments to the effect of disliking yaoi. While voicing a bishie in a CLAMP series. Yeah...

I guess it is.

Stuff Vic says about yaoi is probably 80x less serious than the fangirls make it out to be. He even says that everyone has their own opinions on things and that his opinion is that yaoi is usually wrong.

Everything is better as a Dunkleosteus.

And that's enough on that subject. Back to VA guessing!

..no idea who that is.

And people seem to agree Eric Hale is America. Even if it isn't I really like America's voice.

Edit'd: So Hberkorn played Hikaru from Ouran and Ling from FMA: Brotherhood. We seem to be having a lot of Relationship Voice Actor s so far.

Yeah, America seemed pretty good. Since he is 80% of the reason I watch the show, I am pleased.

Hikaru as China? That's....strange casting. Honestly, I would've thought of Haruhi for China before I thought of Hikaru.

I'm impressed if that's him. Usually his range isn't that deep (see another Chinese character, Ling Yao from FMAB). In all honesty I was expecting him to get Japan or Italy.

The sound quality of this clip is so shit it's almost impossible to say what I think. But since I've never seen the series anyway, I guess it really doesn't matter.

Ow, that was kind of painful to listen to. I had a harder time following along than I did watching the subs. And I completely missed everything France said...

Russia's voice sounds pretty cool, though.

^^^ I agree; I thought China was supposed to sound a little feminine, so Haruhi seems like a better choice considering she's a Bifauxnen.

Well, it's less that he dislikes yaoi and more that he gets on his soapbox to insist that "[character Vic plays] IS STRAIGHT, SO YOU GROSS FANGIRLS BETTER STOP SLASHING HIM!" He also insisted that he asked CLAMP about Fai's sexuality and they said he was straight.

Silly Vic. Don't you know that there's no straight people in CLAMP?

Personally, I can't wait for him to try it with Hetalia. That shit will be hilarious.
