Man, even when Mustang is acting like a jerk he still looks cool
"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." -Thomas EdisonHe's raised by hostess club madame. Even if only by osmosis, he's bound to be charming, princely bastard at minimum.
Madame Christmas needs more screentime.
Where there's life, there's hope. His name is Col. Roy Mustang. He was raised by Madame Christmas. He creates gorramn combustion reactions with a literal snap of his fingers. I'd say more but spoilers. It would be a crime against humanity if he ever wasn't the coolest motherfucker in any given universe.

PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyHe can rap too.
If Ed is correct and he is providing nutrition for Al's body too when he eats, would he be quite underweight if he needed to provide for both of them and yet ate for one, on top of being short?
"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." -Thomas EdisonEd actually eats for two. Look back at episode 1 and you see Ed eat Al's share of dinner.
Where there's life, there's hope.Yup. He's been doing it the whole time.
One Strip! One Strip! It's Al who is the underweight scrawn. Ed's been hogging most of that nutrition for himself and he is still short.

Where there's life, there's hope.Oh, right. Didn't notice that.
Also, Ling is my favorite character who wasn't also in '03.
I feel like both series have advantages over the other in certain departments, but this plot is so good I'm probably going to give the advantage to Brotherhood.
"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." -Thomas EdisonHm...aside from what you've already mentioned about the Elric brothers, what advantages do you think each of them have, at the moment?
Oh God! Natural light!I like the at times somber mood of '03. It took time to slow down, which can be nice sometimes. I like how the back stretches of '03 actually made me think afterwards sometimes in the way something like Eva would, which is something I personally really love, and it's not something I would have expected from a seemingly simple shonen like FMA. Of course, FMA is no ordinary shonen in either canon, but I didn't know that going in. Furthermore, where they follow each other, '03 greatly outperforms Brotherhood, because Brotherhood didn't really hit its stride until after the divergence.
Brotherhood has less of that stuff, but it makes up for it with its absolute rollercoaster of a plot, which never stops but never feels exhausting, after the first 12ish episodes, where things felt a little rushed, things become perfectly paced, and there is absolutely zero filler besides maybe Episode 1 and the Rush Valley episode, which isn't something that could be said for '03. I also love the greatly expanded scope of the thing. More characters, more places, more things happening, higher stakes. I like that the world is expanded. In '03 it kind of felt like Amestris was the whole world and nothing else matters, but here we see that Amestris is actually just a small part of the world.
And did I mention the plot? Because while '03s plot is great Brotherhood's has been one of the best I've ever seen so far.
"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." -Thomas EdisonLing is amazing and easily my second favorite Brotherhood character. Where are you at?

This song needs more love.Episode 27 right now. The past 3 episodes really ramped up the HSQ
"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." -Thomas EdisonI don't remember how many episodes this was or if you're up to the part with Bradley...
If you're not then the HSQ has not yet been reached.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Which part with Bradley? There are a lot of parts with Bradley.
We know he's Wrath, Ed and Ling know he's Wrath, Roy knows he's Wrath, and Bradley started expositing about his part to Roy for some reason.
Now we're seeing Hohenheim at a trippy campfire with young Pinako and recapping the plot so far despite him not being there for any of it

"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." -Thomas EdisonYou are one episode away from my all-time favorite FMA character being introduced.
This song needs more love.Well, if you've gotten the full reveal about Bradley, then I can finally bring up this point.
I made this post in the FMA General thread if you recall.
Now that you've passed the point where Bradley has explained his background, I can go into details.
03 Bradley / Pride has all of Brotherhood Bradley / Wrath's abilities, but unlike the latter, can regenerate.
However, Wrath lacks any other weaknesses besides that, and later on, you'll really see just how terrifying he is, just how lucky the heroes are that he lacks the same powers as his fellows, and just how incredibly lucky 03 Roy was that Pride's weakness was practically handed to him.
One Strip! One Strip! You mean Father?
"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." -Thomas EdisonIf Vatek's talking about who I think they are, then no.
This should be interesting...
Oh God! Natural light! That Big Sister Armstrong.
Where there's life, there's hope.It is not Father. You'll know exactly who it is.
