Huh well this is a surprising turn of events.

Turns out the author of violent martial arts manga Baki (Keisuke Itagaki) & anthropomorphic animal romance drama manga Beastars which is getting an anime this season (Paru Itagaki) are real-life father & daughter.

Did not see that coming & what completely different manga they are both working on. They are even serialized in the same magazine so they are kinda co-workers in a sense.

As an aside, slim, what was the name of that manga where there's a tournament between the gods and humanity? Is it still ongoing?

Well, I'm less surprised about mangaka of the same magazine who write the same kind of manga and very obviously share influences being friends. Obviously, there's no guarantee they'd be friends, Bakuman most likely isn't an entirely accurate representation of inter-mangaka friendships and relationships, but I find romantic and familial bonds more notable I guess.

It's still cool they're buds though.

It's been an open secret that Vic Mignogna is a horrible, bullying slimeball with an unhealthy appetite for teenagers for years. Talk to any reasonably experienced staff member at a reasonably high-profile con, and they've got a Mignogna story - about how he chewed them out for nothing, about how they had to make sure he was never alone with underaged fans, and so on. It's not just a 'celebrity going to his head' thing, either - he lost his teaching job due to persistent inappropriate behaviour towards his students, and one of those students was willing to go on the record saying he had sexually assaulted her when she was sixteen.

The lawsuit he's got himself stuck in is a hell of his own making. It's a classic SLAPP, legal action with no legal merit designed to bully your critics into submission through the stress and expense of defending themselves in court. Abuser gets exposed, abuser flips out and tries to hurt their victims further. It's one of Donald Trump's favourite tactics. The catch is that Texas has strong anti-SLAPP laws, which is why the credible law firms he first went to said 'lol nope', and he ended up shacking up with a couple of YouTube con artists who'd never run a defamation case before. Now it seems to be falling apart exactly as one might expect, and it's very, very funny to see his trademark intimidation and swagger running up against a brick wall, not least because the YouTube lawyers have also managed to get themselves in serious trouble through perjury and forging documents.

And that is why the best course of action when your crimes' been exposed is to just confess.

Most, if not all, jurisdictions in the world tend to give you lesser penalties if you just give yourself in without fuss.

Any decent lawyer would probably say the same thing.

@Hail: Yeah, Shuumatsu is still going strong and it’s really fun

It's a shame Mignogna was such an asshole. He was (and is) one of my favorite anime voice actors.

While Miyuki Sawashiro did a pretty good job as Slan, I still think Atsuko Tanaka was a much better fit for the character.

Wondering if Miyuki Sawashiro will also be a great voice for Mamako from Okaasan-Online given on how she voiced Camilla from FE :3

@Hail Muffins I think you got it backwards when I watched the anime given well... Mamako wants to give motherly love towards Masato despite being 15 yrs old.

Although yeah, I truly imagine how Mamako sounds like to have Miyuki Sawashiro's voice :3

@Hail Muffins Indeed the manga Shuumatsu no Walkure/Record of Ragnarok is still running & it’s def gotten real intense.

It’s on its 4th epic battle which features Jack the Ripper vs Hercules of all people.
