@Nyktos

Thank you very much! Does this mean I get to call you Ishikawa now?

I will now refer to you exclusively as Ishikawa.

As for horror manga: Fuan no Tane was an interesting conceptual thingie. Made Of Meat linked me to it a while ago, it's one of those obscure 4chan-translated manga with no fanbase. It's not gross or anything, just... eerie.

What have I been watching lately besides FMA (both anime, as those that check Brotherhood's topic know) and Anime/Pokemon...Monster's a recent one, and I was surprisingly disapponted to learn Bleach was going on hiatus — I was having fun teasing that for all its worth while squeeing every time Ikkaku appeared. Now that Funi's started to put up more dub episodes of Sgt Frog I'm catching up on that too (Kululu sounds so much better compared to the test ep, thank god).

I'm also starting to pick my choices for my next liveblog. Hopefully, the OT board at Game FA Qs will have a hand in what I'll watch over winter break, though I have a feeling I'll be watching the anime that has "Gateway Drug Award" all over it.

Why does that guy who spoke (essentially) gibberish earlier write like that? I really can't see the point, from any angle.

If you mean series coming out in winter, the future's not looking very bright...

Hm, that Durarara thing actually looks sorta interesting! The rest of it looks kinda terrible

I'm actually interested in Halo Wars and whatever that Dante's Inferno animated adaption ends up being.

I was just talking about the main stuff, not the things on the side. Although I have heard some praise for Nodame Cantabile and Hidamari Sketch.

Apparently Durarara has a black guy. This is new.

So when I'm not watching the new season's offerings I'm watching the third season of Zero No Tsukaima... I've found that I'm actually less bothered by Louise's physical violence (I guess I've become used to that kind of over-the-top slapstick violence) and more bothered by her constant tendency to pull rank vs. other people. It's expected that others should oblige, but you'd expect Saito to be a bit more resistant to that kind of behavior. It actually makes the Entire subplot with Henrietta fairly interesting: Here's someone she (for personal AND political reasons) can't pull rank against at all.

I think what separates this show from others of it's type is that it actually bothers to develop the supporting cast a bit. (At some point Guiche and Montmorency became my favorite characters) and it actually manages to do some fairly funny things with it's various plot devices (the Sleipnir ball ("Magical disguise as whoever you admire") thing was very fun.

Still, the lack of Kirche in the latter seasons distresses me. But then again, I've always been a fan of Catherine.

I might have to catch up to Nodame Cantabile, I never watched the second season, figuring I'd wait until it got finished, but I loved the first one.

Strawberry Panic is stalling on me. I think I'll start rebuilding by watching as much yuri as I can. First the aforementioned, then perhaps Aoi Hana, Mari Mite, and a rerun of Saki.

I can't stand yuri. Seriously. Except Strangers In Paradise (at least the early volumes)

That's cool, 'cause it's a school band, which is a different deal. smile

I never joined a school band, so it doesn't hit miss as close to home.

I never got around to watching K-on. There's no "hook" in there for me. (watched the first ep or so)

EDIT: I'm odd like that, I can overlook a LOT of crappy stuff, but there needs to be something to hook me. I can watch an entire show just for three scenes featuring the one character I actually liked, but I can't watch a decent show that doesen't catch my attention.
