Any news on new practice sessions?

Hey guys, sorry I wasn't around this weekend and probably will probably be off Steam for a bit longer.

It's September 7th, which means the tournament starts in five days. Once it happens, I'm gonna need to be able to schedule games and have people show up for them. I'll run times by in this thread to make sure they're workable, but we all need to be a bit reliable here.

That said, my schedule is changing and I might not be able to play on weekday afternoons (my time) anymore. However, we can still do tournament games scheduled at that time if you guys can play the matches without me. I could appoint a few others as team leaders who can organize games at certain times, which will alleviate pressure for all of us: I won't have to organize every game, and you guys won't have to run everything through me.

Now, for some practice before the tournament, I see there are two Open Challenges in the ladder, which we could accept. Both are tomorrow, one is 8:00 PM and one is 9:30 PM (not sure on the time zone, but probably Euro). What do you guys think?

I may or may not be in this group for much longer, though; my school workload this semester is far more intense than I'd initially wagered.

Same here, for similar reasons. It's senior year at high school for me, and I'm not very eager to mess it up.

Uhm...so, about tonight. What server, what time? My computer is acting up (stupid piece of overheated junk) ATM, but I'll still be able to join the latter one.

I hope this won't be a problem, but I'll only be able to play friday/saturday/sunday.

It is almost time.

All the registered teams have been arranged into groups, which you can see here. We're in Group #250.

However, on their home page it says, "Once we have announced the final divisions, teams will be able to schedule matches against the other teams in their group." So it seems we have to wait a bit longer before scheduling matches.

Anyway, I'm starting to get a bit nervous; I'm still not certain about the process, how we communicate with the other team, the ETF 2 L people, how we pick a server to play on... I suppose that can't be helped until we've played a few rounds. But it would sure be nice if we had someone experienced to talk to ;)

All I can say is, remember to record a demo of every match by entering into the console: "record filename".

We still got time for some Ladder, as well. If I find some times to schedule matches, I'll run them by this thread. I hope everything works out...

There are several open challenges up right now. They are, with all times in CET (CET is Central Europe Time and is 6 hours ahead of EST):

• 20:00 17/09/2010 or 2:00 PM EST Friday (I can't make this one) HAS BEEN TAKEN
• 18:00 18/09/2010 or 12:00 PM EST Saturday HAS BEEN TAKEN
• 01:30 19/09/2010 or 7:30 PM EST Sunday
• 01:30 20/09/2010 or 7:30 PM EST Monday HAS BEEN TAKEN

Please respond and tell me which times work for you guys. I want to accept at least one of them, and play a Ladder game just to get us into ETF2L stuff.

In fact, IMPORTANT NOTE: I'd like everyone on the team to post times they're generally available again so that I can get them all in one place.

On a side note, we've got the TVTropes server all set up for the tournament, it now holds 18 people and runs the ETF2L config, so now we can use it in the tournament if we need to.

Alright guys, I accepted an open challenge. It turns out I had dates confused anyway because of the time zones. We now have a game scheduled for 6:30 PM EST on Sunday.

Anyone who can be there, should. I would like if everyone could sign on to Steam 10 or 15 minutes early so we can get a chat going, decide our classes, etc. In the meantime, I will converse with the other team leader to decide the server, etc.

EST is GMT-5, so an hour ahead.

That's 3:30 PM PST. Hopefully I'll be up by then. If not, IM Norad IV and tell him to come over to my house and hit me in the head.
