Pokémon General Thread

Alright. I'm now outside the Pokemon League. Just gotta travel Victory Road.

Not too interested in catching new mons for the most part. Might save that for afterwards, though I doubt it. I'm so far behind that just finishing it up makes more sense.

Gonna work on levelling up some other mons while going down Victory Road via the Exp Share.

I just drop something in the GTS asking for something reasonable in return. 12 years later it still works.

Hell I even got a Lunala for my spare Solgaleo.

I have a bunch of Own Tempo Rockruff breedjects in Ultra Moon that can't be Wonder Traded because of the ability, so I've been putting them in the GTS for Pikipek. They usually go within a couple hours, tops.

The GTS also worked to transfer some items between XY and ORAS. It was nice.

I hate Fairies as much as Sturm does, but I hope someone could answer my question.

Ahh yes Golem. One of the stick outs from the Gen I trade evos, and not in a good way. At least Machamp got its time to shine for a bit. That said, the Geodude line does represent its type stereotypically well just like Machamp, Gengar and Alakazam.

It's quite forgettable. Doesn't help that no in game trainer in Gen I uses it, and it looks so different from Graveler (I prefer Golem's design from Graveler's, but it's such a design departure between the two)

Honestly, seeing the word "hate" being thrown around so liberaly feels... puerile. You may dislike stuff, but seeing an unexplained "hate" thrown around... Yeah, makes you look bad.

Hate is a strong feeling. There is actual stuff to hate. I wouldn't lump something in a videogame with that stuff, and, if you do, shame on your priorities.

Anyway, here is hoping we get word on Bank for the Switch; gotta transfer my Dittos.

And, speaking of such app, I hope the yearly reward is, this time around, Eternal Floette and/or Original Magearna. But hey, I won't be surprised if it is just HA Heatran/Oranguru/Passimian.

Throwing 'hate' around always makes me think of Francis from Left 4 Dead.

@MayIncon With the exception of Zygarde, the Kalos Pokemon are all available in the main story, almost appearing in all route.

As for Alolan Pokemon, Aren't only the Ultra Beasts and Necrozma locked until the postgame? I do recall that a sizable number of the Johto Pokemon are locked until the postgame.

Anyway...

Which Pokemon do you think OU should suspect test next that is not Landorus Therian? For me who doesn't play OU all that much, it would be Magearna. It's an overwhelming force that excels in every area with not many drawbacks.

Just saw this challenge and it reminded me of our discussion a few pages ago about being able to remember all Pokémon names. Decided to post it for your leisure, if you wanna try it.

Phew. Took me all day, but got all the items on Victory Road, fought all the trainers, made it to the league, and then slapped Barry out of the way when he was all like Lets see which one of us is worthy even though I've lost every battle to you!

I'll challenge the league soon. Just want one thing...an item that's supposedly just outside the entrance to Victory Road.

I'm taking that test now, and without looking at anything else, I'm currently at 534/809, which is actually a lot better than I thought I would have, since this is just testing name memory. There are quite a few Pokemon that I remember clearly but I just don't remember the name or even just the correct spelling, such as Grovile and Tododile, which I can't seem to get right no matter how many permutations I try.

So, about to challenge the Sinnoh Pokemon League.

My party is:

• Level 49 Garchomp;

• Level 47 Electabuzz;

• Level 47 Floatzel;

• Level 47 Sneaky Weaville;

• Level 48 Infernape;

• Level 48 Staraptor.

How am I for coverage, and also, should I work on levelling up some of my guys before I head in. Maybe get them up to at least Level 55?

See, I have a valid reason not to like Fairy types. They super-nerfed my beloved dragons merely by existing, and we can't have that, my dragons deserve to be broken to the point of being all over the meta, obviously. We're talking they deserve to be Brawl Meta Knight levels of OP.

You might want to drop the Garchomp. Cynthia's signature Pokemon is Garchomp, and it's kind of like two people showing up to a dance wearing the same dress, it'll just be awkward.

Meh. Screw that.

In fact, Garchomp might be my best weapon against her Garchomp if I can get it high level enough. I do sort of remember it being one of my better mons when I was playing the game.

As long as I keep it away from Ice attacks, he's wrecking machine.

If you are going to mirror match, you will need to be at least 60. Even with the lower levels in Platinum, those perfect I Vs and good E Vs + Sitrus Berry means you will likely be outsped and probably OHKO'd by Dragon Rush if you are 59 or less; those extra levels mean you can 2 hit back if you outspeed, or heal and wait for a miss if she is faster.

Got it. So where do I go to grind? It's been a while.
