That reminds me, something "good" gets Sticky Web (people were seriously talking about freakin' Scizor getting it), they may re-test Greninja in OU again.

Ugh, Entry Hazards. Don't get me started on them.
Speaking of Smogon, I'm just gonna be over here. Playing the official format. That world-broadcast tournaments use.

but they don't' do singleeees
also today i decided "i'm gonna see what all the hubaloo around here is with lopunny"
so i used it
MAIN
Lopunny can go suck a lemon. Zangoose is my favorite Normal type.
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!Spikes and Toxic Spikes have relatively low distribution and take multiple turns to set up, and Sticky Web is and probably always will be even rarer and almost certainly will remain exclusive to less powerhouse-ish Bugs. All three are fine.
Stealth Rock, meanwhile, gives a huge output for a tiny input of one turn and way, way too many things learn it.

I sure said that!Nah, Smogon doesn't have a hard-on for stall. But it's much easier to demonstrate that a Pokemon is an overpowered offensive threat than a defensive one, which leads most of the bans to happen to powerful offensive Pokemon, which may in turn cause stall to be a bit more viable. I don't encounter it too often, though.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Notably, the overviews tend to reference how offense-oriented the metagame is.

Am I the only one who doesn't like Garchomp?
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseGarchomp is a landshark jet dragon. There is nothing to dislike.
MY SOUL IS DARK BUT MY HAIR IS COLORFUL — Brahian Pokémon AlchemistSomething I want to point out again about Greninja; A Pokemon does not have to be obscenely powerful to get a ban. It can also be banned for centralizing the metagame, a lack of reliable counters, or for being really powerful.
Greninja fits all 3.
I actually had a streamer offer $100 to the person who could name 1 counter for greninja, (A counter, by definition, is a Pokemon that can switch into move greninja has, survive at least 2 hits, and KO it in return). They went though an entire OU list, but none were found. Thats because of the top 3 sets, Greninj can become one of 12 types. Which means you have to hope and pray that a greninja is the right set before sending in a poke. Dark Pulse, Ice Beam, Gunk Shot, Grass Knot, Hydro Pump, Low Kick, Extrasensory, Hidden Power Fire, U-Turn...What 1 Pokemon can take all these moves powered by a Life Orb and come out uncrippled?
Lets not also forget that a Greninja is really fast and hits hard; allowing i to change typing whenever it pleases as well as being fast enough to outspeed many OU threats, and you have a Pokemon that impossible to predict 100% of the time. In fact; thats another thing; Greinja can fit into any team. ANY team without problems. Aegislash was the same, as well as Mega Lucario.
If Pokemon being Paper was relevant, Deoxys Attack, Darkrai, and Shaymin Sky would all be flying around OU right now. While I love the frog to death (design wise; I hate fighting the slimy little-), it sadly needs to go. With it gone, More pokemon in BL will finally get a chance to shine, and the tier will have far more varitey without ninjas on every. single. team.

Hey I have a bit of an odd question: The PWT was referenced in generation four before showing up in B2W2, right? I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of where that quote comes from/where it was mentioned.
It was referenced in BW 1 by Cynthia, not anywhere in DPP.
Theoretically Chansey should probably be suspected due to how it stops all special attackers dead in their tracks. But without Chansey stall would not have enough space to handle all the major threats. In an offense oriented metagame there are more offensive threats that need dedicated defensive answers then there are defensive threats that need dedicated offensive answers.
When MALE character dialogue is taken out of context, Pokemon becomes an otome game
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!edited 24th Dec '14 6:37:49 AM by Zelenal
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Ash somehow became less terrible after moving on to Kalos :P
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!I saw some of the Black and White series the other day while babysitting. Ash sucks even worse.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.X&Y has been good to Ash's competency, mind. He beats Grant by essentially teaching Pikachu to surf Draco Meteor, and counters Viola's strategy by turning it against her. Also he teaches Hawlucha Flying Press before inviting him into the team and that was glorious.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!Ash's Hawlucha and Froakie are the best. The episode where they had to work together was gloriously awesome and funny.
I can't take Hawlucha wearing Ash's hat seriously.
@: Can I paste this on a pastebin?
I looked at the Uber viability rank and Greninja is somehow B- there.
I don't understand how but if it does end up being better there than I thought, then I'm going to be a lot less against the ban in OU.
hot damn
also urrrg got in a long arguement with a guy about how greninja isn't invincible, even though i said it wasn't it was just overcentralizing
"empoleon, porygon-2, and chansey counter it"
k that's good
now every team has that in preparation for greninja
he even argued that greninja doesn't break the game, he BALANCES it
i'm angry no
As far as I can tell, it's an exaggeration. It is true that most of the suspects/banned Pokemon wind up being the heavy hitters, but they're not just banned because they mess with stall; often times it's because they're too much for any team archetype to deal with (for instance, effectively dealing with the Pokemon requires use of an otherwise useless Pokemon).
Stall's actually the best fit to deal with Greninja right now; it's being suspected partially because the other playstyles have a lot of trouble dealing with it.
