Hello, earthlings. Looks like I'm going to join Eclipse and Infinities. Oh well, time to read the posts!
Hello
Would you cartoony martian like to join an alliance of superpowered pirate, murderous clown and Russian general? :D The pirate is giving away random superpowers to sweeten the deal. (Temporary - last for one world for now. He'll get new ones for the next.)
(And they're not so random - set was rolled long ago and there is only one left... It's sweet though :D)

Cartoony? I'll show you cart— I mean, I still have to read the RP threads to get myself situated.
(notices Infinities has over 9 thousand posts)
Change of plans: anyone has a summary or something?
There's a Recap page but I think it's out of date.
"Yup. That tasted purple."Linkity link?
Cheers, Adannor.
I think I'll give Wily an initial starting force of three Mets and two Sniper Joes, assuming that's the upper limit for mook numbers right now.

Locking you up on radar since '09Summary: a group of god like beings called Nomads kidnaps characters and forces them to complete challenges. For some unknown reason in Infinities, to recover pieces of a universe-killing starship in Sifuri and to groom them as generals in Eclipse.
In infinities you appear somewhere in a "city" of crystal spires and with an oldtimey castle filled with robots somewhere in it as a challenger's base.
In Eclipse you appear in some weird pod in a middle of nowhere with no memories of whoever you was, get drawn towards an ominous tower on the horizon, reclaiming memories in the process.
At least, as far as I remember :D
"I think I'll give Wily an initial starting force of three Mets and one Sniper Joe, assuming that's the upper limit for mook numbers right now. "
I think Joker and Dragovich grabbed themselves a rather hefty amount of mooks, actually.

Well, what happened in Eclipse so far? There isn't a Recap page for it.

THE STORY SO FAR
The heroes of Infinities have just come out the other end of challenge fraught with warring androids and deluded warlords. Now they rest, and pick up the pieces.
Meanwhile, following a crossover with Taskforce Sifuri, the villains of Eclipse have returned to their rooms, only for each to be greeted with a loyal workforce of their own. Now they toy with their new minions, and forge tenuous alliances.

Thank you! I suppose X-2 would just wake up in the place where all the villains from Eclipse are?
Well, they gathered in the tower, were addressed by the mysterious employer with almost bone-breaking voice, got transported into a nondescript world, walked through to a lair of another, dying Nomad, kicked him around for a bit, he fled to the Europa (as in a moon of Jupiter), then they were suddenly crossovered with Sifuri teams and tried to kill each other before finally focusing on hunting down and finishing off the Nomad.
After returning to the tower they got tested with a slightly watered down version of the Total Perspective Vortex, after which they gained new powers. Most got mooks, I choose a personal powerup for Blackbeard.
The what Lizard of Aus said :D
"Thank you! I suppose X-2 would just wake up in the place where all the villains from Eclipse are? "
I think the whole pod sequence is mandatory. Though you could just condence it and show at the tower's doorsteps. BB can greet you

Anything I should know about the pod/town/tower?
Well, unless I'm mistaken, those that leave their pods start off with total amnesia, which fades over time.
That's how it was at the beginning, anyway. Should still be the same.

Pods are described in the first page of Eclipse thread. Tower is a standard issue Evil Tower of Ominousness.
Infinities' "crystal city" is just a collection of giant crystals jutting from the ground AFAIK. You can just approach the group hanging around the castle base.
Oh, and an important bit:
Death Is Cheap in Infinities: if you get killed, you respawn back at the base. (You are still out of the challenge.)
In Eclipse, it's permanent.
It should be mentioned that the aforementioned land o' robot war is the home universe of one of the champions.
@Adannor:
Really? Huh. How many?
Locking you up on radar since '09No specified amounts. Just a lot.
Of course it also begs a question of how much tougher are MM mooks compared to human thugs of Joker and soldiers of Dragovich.
Hm... I think to be safe I'll have there be less minions than them - I plan on subverting Strong Flesh, Weak Steel if a situation involving that comes up.
Locking you up on radar since '09X-2's minions are robots. Robots with personalities. And that often goof off.
Sorry for the double post, but had to ask before I post: is the memory recovery instantaneous? And does he get all of his memories back?
Normally it wasn't, but considering that you're condensing the introductory sequence anyway (it's boring to do alone), it may as well be.
It's all his memories, right? Or just part of them?
Yeah, it's all of them, unless you want to miss some piece for a bit of personal development (Joker couldn't remember Batman for a while, for example)
Sequence from here, the Overlord's return to the tower.
Then they spread over the tower on their own. There also was that bit of ominousness.
