And Spooky, our problem is actually twofold: Not only is the channel gone, but a relationship is ruined because of it. All of these guys knew each other in at least some capacity whether from work (Woolie, Matt, Liam), school (Matt and Woolie and Pat) or having been friends for a long time before (Matt, Pat, Woolie). It's not just just "We've broken up because we've gotten tired". It's "We can't really call ourselves the Super Best Friends if two of us aren't friends anymore." A relationship that was a big part of two lives ended and that's what's making a lot of people sadder than just the channel shutting down.

I don't think explaining that to him will change his overall opinion. He's just like this about a lot of stuff.

I'm not sure it's just Matt and Pat either. I think one of them doesn't like Liam? Or one of them doesn't want to hang out with Woolie anymore? I think there are now certain combinations of people that are no longer allowed beyond just Matt and Pat.

Last I checked; Matt likes Liam and Woolie but dislikes Pat, Pat likes Woolie but dislikes Matt and was never friends with Liam even if he doesn't dislike him, and Liam likes Matt and Woolie but dislikes Pat.

And Woolie, unfortunately for him, likes everyone.

At least Matt and Pat outright stated that they didn't like each other. Jon and Arin pretty much unperson-ed each other for three years and continued to do that afterwards.

Woolie is friends with everyone. Matt and Liam are friends, but not with Pat.

Unfortunately I was watching some streams and Pat's girlfriend Paige mentioned she was friends with and doing a podcast for the Ralph Retort, a notorious alt-righter. So while Pat is still on safe ground, he may eventually turn into the new Jon.

Why would you do this to me? :(

Damn. I really like Paige too because she and Pat fit each other like a hand on a glove.

@Very Melon: Hey that is rude, I have strong opinions on stuff, but I'm not dogmatic It does actually help me to understand the situation by having it emphasized that sad part comes from the "everyone is angry at each other" part.

Like, it is true that I still see lot of youtubers and let's players being more business oriented than fandom generally believes and that I was always wary of this channel's name both because I've seen how easily friendships end due to business and differing opinions and because I understand word "friend" differently from most people, but that doesn't mean I can't learn to understand why people seem broken about this channel breaking.

Regarding Paige, I just think she's fine with hanging out with people she gets along with, regardless of political views. I don't know the details of the right-wingy crowd she hangs out with, but the first half hour of the last podcast was spent talking about how she went to a con full of furries, and how much she loved it. Some people can and do hang out with and be friends with people they might fundamentally disagree with.

Further to that, I don't think either of them (but especially Pat) has shown much interest of predilection to go political on anything. Pat especially seems to be The Anti-Nihilist in worldview, and won't care much about stuff as long as he gets to play games from his sofa. So, I'm not personally concerned about them going alt-right in any capacity.

If it was just hanging out with people with unsavory views then fine, but the Ralph Retort is know primarily for his extremist rightwing views and being very vocal about them (moreso than Jontron), and being one of the more notorious provocateurs for That Thing Which Shall Not Be Named, so one wonders how the hell she even became friends with him in the first place. It's as if Paige was chatting eagerly about hanging out with Stefan Molyneaux or Carl Benjamin on stream. True, she might not actively harbor alt-right beliefs, but it does mean she's startlingly tolerant of them.

I did actually look over Ralph Retort's forums afterwards, hoooooo boy that's some far-right activity going on over there.

I hear let's plays for Kingdom hearts are rarely finished due to Content ID claims

There was one group that did manage to finish an entire KH playthrough over a decade ago, albeit, that was before they labeled their videos as Let's Plays, and youtube was a lot less strict back then.

Team Four Star did a retrospective of the entire franchise a while ago and they loved it.

Matt put out a Punch-Out!! Retrospective. I think this is part of the reason for the break-up. Matt was losing interest in Let's Plays, and wanted to do more scripted stuff like this, and Edgelords and Wha Happun?

Judging from the strawpoll on his Twitter, Pat will be streaming Yakuza Kiwami on his Christmas Eve stream.

The other options are (in order of votes) Resident Evil 4, Chrono Trigger and Darks Souls 3.

If anything the breakup will help with his streaming schedule; now he can stream long games and stuff that he previously couldn't focus on.

Yup, he's also said that this will free him up to do longer streams and games he would not have considered doing while at SBFP because of his commitments to the channel.

Honestly, Pat Stares At and Castle Superbeast are probably the two bits of SBFP I'll be certainly following from this point on - I'll give the others a look-see but I never got into Woolie and Matt's solo stuff, although that's partially because I refuse to watch the Nier LP with Woolie and Liam, I want to go into that game blind. I'm more likely to watch Woolie than Matt though, so I'm glad the Woolie/Pat combo will continue to do stuff in some capacity, and fingers crossed, they'll do the Devil May Cry V LP together, though obviously it's early on that front and Pat's response to that question has been basically "it would be cool, but we'll see".
