So, how come Mordecai didn't get sent to Dumptown USA when Margaret broke up with him at the end of season 4? Why was it only CJ's breakup with him that led him to Dumptown USA, not not Margeret?
She didn't dump him...that's why.
They weren't officially dating.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Oh God, that just reminded me of something: I HATED what they did with the relationship between Mordecai and Margaret. They wasted 4 whole seasons, as in half the damn show, building up to them being a couple. And when it seemed like it was going to finally happen in Steak Me Amadeus, they slapped us in the face with Margaret rejecting Mordecai because she had decided to go to college instead. And then if that wasn't bad enough, the show tried to make a love triangle out of Mordecai, Margaret, and CJ. And Mordecai fumbled the ball so hard that he ruined his chances with both of them.
You know how pissed off I was when Steak Me Amadeus aired? I was young, 11/12 years old when it premiered, and I got so mad at that ending, I swore off watching the show, and I stuck to it up until the finale just to see how it ended. I only know about the love triangle stuff because of the internet.
This is why Mordecai gets called a simp. Because he spent most of the show pining for Margaret only to end up with nothing at the end of the day. Maybe if they became a couple at the end of season 3, and THEN they broke up in Steak Me Amadeus, maybe he would have a better reputation nowadays, and I wouldn't have quit watching the show.
She was already going to college...the season 4 finale was just when she got accepted.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.In my defense, I did say that I was 11/12 when that came out, so I may have gotten some things wrong.
I get the annoyance (and partly agree), but I was never a big fan of Margaret x Mordecai. I felt it was a nice subversion that it turned out Mordecai wouldn't be with the person he spent several seasons pining over, and instead would get with a girl he has much better chemistry and shared interests with (CJ). I think it would have been better if CJ and Mordecai stayed together. Margaret could return, create some tension, but nothing happens and Mordecai and Margaret remain friends.
Having watched Moral Orel, I've discovered that Rigby is the voice for Reverand Putty.
Putty is just Rigby if he'd chosen to become a religious guy instead of a park worker
"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."I feel like Margaret never felt like part of the cast in the same way that CJ did. Like, she was pretty disconnected from everything else.
Yeah, CJ fit in well, though I do think Margaret began to fit in as well after she returned.
Speaking of CJ, does anyone else get the feeling that she probably evaporated into thin air after season 6 (besides her cameos in season 7)?

She has a couple cameos in season 7 so she didn't die.
I meant after that.
Matt Price confirmed CJ is alive in the future and currently a professional dodgeball player, though she cut off all contact with Mordecai, Margaret, Rigby, and Eileen.
Thanks for nothing, Mordecai…
(Actually, wait. Mordecai and Margaret, I get. But Rigby and Eileen too? Good grief…)
I understand not seeing Rigby anymore. He was a person she liked, but only really hanged out with because he was friends with her boyfriend, and naturally hanging out with your ex's best friend would be awkward.
Eileen is a bit harder to justify, as she didn't really become integrated into the friend group until the final season. Maybe because she's best friends with Margaret, which would also be awkward? Still a bit of a shame, since CJ and Eileen seemed like good friends (it's also a shame since the episodes with Mordecai, Rigby, CJ and Eileen hanging out were some of my favourites).
Edit: Close Enough is basically what would have happened if Mordecai and CJ got together (and were also human).

I'm kind of wondering what happened to Margaret. I read that the writers were considering having her hook up with Don while all of the workers were in space, and since there's nothing in the series that doesnt contradict that, I'll assume thats what happened. Of course, that's just headcanon, like my Eileen becoming President speculation.
Pretty hilarious if that happens considering the episode where Rigby asked out Margaret to spite Mordecai
Turns out Mordo should've looked out for the other racoon guy.

"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."Matt Price confirmed Margaret is currently traveling the world as a newswoman and still keeps in touch with Mordecai, Eileen, and Rigby. And the 25 Years Later comic sheds more light on Margaret post-time skip.
So, how does Skips even have a cousin Quips despite being over 300 years old? I doubt Quips is immortal so how does Skips have a cousin?
He calls him cousin for simplicity? Might be a lot more distant in the family tree.
Wake me up at your own risk.I have a fanon idea.

I will say, some of Mordercai's decisions were somewhat birdbrained.
To actually answer the question, I still like Mordercai. He's a bad friend at times, though people forget how bad of a friend Rigby was initially (though character development did kick in), but mostly a good and likeable person. Besides, it's because of him the show really began to stretch its wings.
