Ichigo and Muramasa in Bleach. They hold hands in their final battle and Muramasa is stated to be "infatuated" with Ichigo.

Just checking, Dreams, do you ever actually register other posters' comments? Because it sure doesn't seem like it.

I think Sion and Nezumi of No6 kiss in episode seven but I'm not sure.

[up][up] I am presuming she doesn't.

Thought as much. Anyways, I'd place Sion and Nezumi in the Nanoha/Fate category. It's not a question of whether they're gay, but rather whether Word of God will ever overtly acknowledge that they're gay (hint - it won't).

I like how you people spent half the page talking about her and she doesn't even seem to have noticed. :3

[up][up] What are you talking about? Of course they're not gay! I'm writing a children's book—a children's book, I tell you!

I do nth No. 6 for Ho Yay though.

I feel that No.6 is so text you can't really count it as Ho Yay. Worse, from what I've seen (up till Episode 4?) it's more a case of SF dystopian characters being used as an excuse for Ho Yay instead of having the Ho Yay grow naturally out of the characterization. I feel like I'm been pandered to. It's patronizing and irritating. Give us fangirls more credit. Is just a little bit more sophistication and subtlety too much to ask? The whole thing is so awkwardly scripted and directed. Ugh. I'll keep on watching it, but I have to say that I had higher expectations for the show than this.

I don't know, I'm pretty cool with blatant pandering.

Granted, I'm more of a characterization first, then Ho Yay sort of person. No point in Ho Yay if you don't really give a shit about the characters having it (which is why, say, Black Butler falls flat for me). It's a side dish. You can't build a series on it (you can build a series on a relationship, but not on "LOOK AT THESE TWO GET INTO COMPROMISING POSITIONS WITH EACH OTHER!")

Yeah I agree on No6 being text. Anyone know of any other slashable animes where two guys kiss other than Sion and Nezumi in No6

[up][up] That's why I like Tiger And Bunny. It's pandering, but it doesn't feel like pandering- it's something Kotetsu would do IC anyway (because he's such a huge dork). I basically couldn't watch Black Butler or Nabari No Ou because the pandering took me out of the story.

Strangely enough, Black Butler's Ho Yay never bothered me. Maybe it's because I read the manga? Maybe it's because I already expect that kind of pandering because of its gothic atmosphere? Or because it's pretty obvious that Sebastian is in it not out of personal attachment of any sort, but the typical demonic "I GET YOUR SOUL MUAHAHAHA" thing? Eh.

I notice that Tiger & Bunny's Ho Yay didn't get the kind of flak that No. 6 did, probably because it's done in a way that grows naturally out of the characterization. Dorkiness is the perfect word for it. It doesn't take itself too seriously, like some other series with Ho Yay I could name... which is probably why it doesn't bother all the homophobic fans that crawled out of the woodwork for No. 6?

[up] Or it could be that /a/ is just as enamored with Kotetsu as post-13 Barnaby is. Hard to be up in arms about the homoeroticism when you want to bone the old man just as much as blondie.

Kotetsu is ridiculously moe, I'll give him that.

I definitely agree with Anarchy's assessment of Black Butler, and I found that surprisingly awesome since too much over-the-top Ho Yay bugs me.

I'm going to say off the top of my head, Naruto, Yugioh, DN Angel, and on the video game front, probably Axel/Roxas from Kingdom Hearts

I agree that Albert/Franz and Albert/Count in Gankutsuou was some good Ho Yay.

Yes. It is also the most brazenly homoerotic thing to ever not be an official Shonen Ai title.

I mean, shit, the most recent episode had Barnaby admit that he'd been learning to cook fried rice just for Kotetsu. And Kotetsu apparently was so happy when Barnaby first called him by name that he promptly went out to get smashingly drunk off his ass. Also, he thinks Barnaby has purdy eyes.

I'm calling fake-out on that death scene. There's Word of God statements contradicting it and everything.

Personally, I loved No.6. Pandering to the fangirls? Bring it on!

...Plus, Nezumi and Shion were just so cute.

Anyway. Recommendations? There's a lot on here already, but I'd add Shiki. You'd probably have to go a few episodes in until you get to it, but then it's like ZOMG HO YAY. This is the anime that inspired the Shiki kid watering the homolust meme, by the way.

Also, Hikaru no Go. There were confessions under the cherry blossoms, dedicating one's life to another boy (well, almost), obsessing over Eternal Rivals... god, I loved it.

[up][up] Tiger And Bunny, unsuprisingly, goes over well with not just the fangirls in Japan. OH MAN the Bara this show has inspired...
