Oh yeah, I remember that... Wouldn't surprise me.
I assure you, I'm a completely trustworthy person.Yeah I actually respect Kubo wanting to keep Ichi Ruki a platonic relationship.
My issues lie in how he botched Ichigo's actual love interest.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Yeah, Ichigo barely showed interest in Orihime, all things considered. Sure, there was that moment in Hueco Mundo where he was fighting Grimmjow, but Ichigo has those kinds of moments with pretty much all of his close friends.
Don't catch you slippin' now.As someone who witnessed the Potterdammerung and the Narutocalypse and Avatarmageddon...
...the IchiRuki meltdown seemed tame in comparison.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."Probably because Naruto ended first, so all the manga readers knew what to expect. Harry is a book series turned into live action films, and Avatar is a western kid's cartoon(which have a habit of picking up the worst people into their fandoms). Total monopoly over their mediums in comparison to Bleach sharing space with Naruto.

On one had Naruto was bigger in general, so it's to be expected that the backlash was also bigger.
On the other hand, I think Hinata/Naruto was always the most popular ship there, as opposed to Bleach where Ichigo/Rukia was above Ichigo/Orihime.

Yeah Naruto/Hinata was very popular but that doesn't change that Narusaku had enough rabid followers to cause a meltdown.
Flip it and you'd have the same shitstorm. Maybe Naruhina outrage would be quieter, maybe it'd be louder. There's absolutely no way of knowing because we're talking about a large number of people on either side, anything else would be a generalization.
The same goes for Bleach.
I shipped Sasuke/Death and I was very put out about the ending that I didn't read
Forever liveblogging the AvengersIf you didn't read it, does anyone have the right to tell you that didn't happen?
That’s a good point, I can ignore the inconvenience of the truth and the sequel and just assume my ship happened
Forever liveblogging the Avengers...His arm died. Good enough for ya?
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position. That’s not even a quarter of him
Forever liveblogging the AvengersHis characterization and motivation died. That count?
"I'll show you fear, there is no hell, only darkness." My twitterHis daughter spends a episode giving him shit when he tries to act like Naruto does toward Himawari.
So his dignity also gets killed.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. You are describing but fractions of a person. I need the full ship, not bits.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersBut in the recent chapter of the manga his daughter expressed happiness at seeing him again.
So all goes well for the Sauce.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Oh man, 2014 was such a wonderful time when Naruto ended; when the pics of Boruto and Himawari leaked online, it was WWIII. I loved every single second of it.
I never saw so much sodium pile up at once, I don't think there's ever been a shitstorm on par with that in the Anime fandom.
On the flipside though, the sheer amount of people coming together when The Last hit theaters was something else. Like people coming out of their online communities to meet up and celebrate Naru Hina, and the MASSIVE influx of fanart and Doujins. It was some cute shit at that point.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Honestly what stricken me as truly bizarre was the existence of Naru Saku fans.
Like what were they thinking? Did they honestly believe that was gonna happen? Even if you didn’t ship Naru Hina, no way Naru Saku was ever gonna happen in this timeline.
Their belief was dumb.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Naruto and Harry Potter at their peaks had a sort of sheer inescapability that I don't think any fandom since has yet equaled.
Though Marvel is at least close thanks to the movies.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."...I mean, I can see the ship. My older brother described it as the relationship of an abused girlfriend trying to get him back.
It’s not difficult to see the ship or why it could have a lot of supporters, especially when Naruto tries so goddamn hard to hang on to the boy.
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.Naru-Saku is Naruto/Sakura, not Naruto/Sasuke.
And it's very easy to see the appealing of Naru-Saku because it's a very classic story of a boy proving his worth to a girl who initially doesn't like him. Lot of Wish-Fulfillment there.

The best part was all the comments that Sakura got "Cuck" because Salad looks more like him and Karin than her mom.
It was amazing. The fact the first small spinoff kickstarted off the fact Salad noticed how weird their relationship is and her resemblance and glasses from Karin is what sealed it.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. Its Sakura/Sasuke thats a bafflement
Forever liveblogging the AvengersMan, Hero and Rival shippers are a dime a dozen. And Naruto sold all of the homoeroticism between him and Sasuke for all that it was worth.
There's a reason people joke Naruto is actually in love with Sasuke, not Hinata.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.
Maybe the reason the anime never came back is that they got mad, too. They were pushing for Ichi Ruki pretty obviously, after all.
