Oh it probably has to do with the power of one's heart or something. Or perhaps Tite Kubo's a misogynist who makes all his female characters weak so the guys can take centre stage?

Also I recall that Rangiku's sword needs to be controlled by the hilt. It's essentially just a long rope sword, while Byakuya's is more independent of his body.

I don't get why Rangiku's couldn't feasibly be stronger, though, since you can presumably inhale ash, and if all that ash was parts of a sword... But that would never happen in Bleach, now would it?

Well, to be fair, Rukia is pretty strong herself, and unonaha is supposed to be the strongest captain besides yamamoto.

Rukia spent an entire arc moping in a tower and later won by technicality because her last move was a magic extendo ice sword. She had a strong force of character in the beginning but even then was pretty useless in combat.

Unohana, we've only seen her be scary. I'm looking forward to seeing her fight — maybe she'll come and rescue Ichigo's irrelevant sidekick squad if they have trouble against Yammy.

Well, I'm not in the mood for a debate about the merits and whatnot of the Damsel in Distress trope... so I won't.

Still, making the whole execution squad back off just by asking it politely is definitely badass.

You know who I am looking forward to seeing Bankai? Gin.

Remember Ichimaru Gin? The creepy smile guy? Guy had a magic extendo sword as his shikai. I just wonder what kind of bankai something like that would take.

Maybe Gin's sword turns into a really big spear with other cool powers for his Bankai?

A very, very, very long sword? And yes, we need more Gin... and more Gin+Rangiku flashbacks as well... what we definitely don't need is tosen. Tosen sucks... although I'd have to say that kenpachi was quite possibly his worst matchup.

Now now, Tosen's power isn't too bad considering he's probably the only one immune to Aizen's shikai.

We do need more Gin. Magic super-extendo sword, huh...

I like Tousen, and I think his Zanapakutou powers are pretty cool. If he had been fighting anyone other than Kenpachi it would have been an easy win.grin

Hey, what if Tousen wants to betray Aizen at the last minute and then become the King himself? Since he's immune to Aizen's hypnosis shikai, it'd be the perfect turnaround. wild mass guess

Tousen betraying Aizen would be awesome. Either to become the new King of Soul Society himself, or to betray Aizen to Soul Society and reveal that he was a Double Agent all along.

Of course perhaps Aizen would have already foreseen it, the subversion of his Perfect Hypnosis shikai and uses his bankai of ABSOLUTE HYPNOSIS to mind control Tousen regardless.

Indeed, while aizen is gloating about his perfectly schemed plans, he gets a sword right trough his chest, it would make sense because we still don't know what is it that tosen fucking wants.

I can see why she doesn't like using it. If it turns out that she can't reload then she's as good as dead because there's no way Barragan would just stand and take the hit. If he did take the hit and survive then that's still the last we'll see of Soifon.

So, I have the feeling that he's trying to make up for Yammy with Soi Fon's awesomely flawed bankai.

Aaaaaaah, Barrigan's released state is just SO FUCKING METAL.

Look!! Just look at it!! He's the fucking skull death king with a huge fuck-off battleaxe and says "THIS IS YOUR GUILLOTINE". BADASS.

I hope he doesn't die like a bitch.

Speaking of Worf's, Chad really needs to stop getting The Worf Effect.

Well, the spoiler pics are out. http://forum.onemanga.com/showthread.php?t=42491

Stark's release looks awesome. It looks like he has guns. Although I am confused because on the spoilers it says that "Next week is Stark's release. So, I am not sure if that means he is simpy going to start doing stuff in his released form, or if when he fused with Lillynette was not his release, but just a special ability he has.
