This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.
The Forum Rules apply here.
Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

Yes, I will recognize when my posts become too frantic and when I'm lashing out, and I will curtail myself from posting during those times. I recognize where I went wrong.
My username is a person that I took their username and I don't want my username to be this. I thought the content on the page wasn't online anymore. I wasn't aware it still was.
Also I created the page so why couldn't I remove it or ask for it to be removed?
~lop90able: "I created the page" doesn't give you the right to control its content or its existence on our site. It's the same principle as The Fic May Be Yours, but the Trope Page Is Ours.
Also, according to our logs, you didn't create the page.

"Yup. That tasted purple."~Berrenta: Actually, Oechhi did make such a contribution to the Arthur character sheet (which was before it was split into three separate subpages; the edit in question is now on the "Younger Children" one): https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/article_history.php?article=Characters.Arthur#edit24151128
On a semi-hiatus from this site due to being busy with other things (may contribute here and there, but nothing major).Good afternoon, all.
I got suspended from editing 3 weeks ago because apparently and accidentally, I was removing names from the Sports section of the What Could Have Been trope. I promise never to go crazy when it comes to editing pages again. All I would like to know is how long the suspension will last.
I was suspended for adding my opinion to Bubble Guppies, and I am sorry for that. I would like to be unbanned to standardize Playing With pages and turn my hate into humor.
I will not enslave you... for now.~thegatorgirl: I'll go ahead and release your suspension. In the future, it's a good idea to check the edit history of a page you want to work on before making changes, to avoid this possibly occurring again.
~NickTheSwing, this cannot happen again, not with the current OTC environment. You are released.
~TripleTV95, we can see you were notified via PM's to stop removing names, and claimed you weren't doing it. Then, after you were suspended, you said you realized what you were doing was wrong. Here, you say it was an accident. It seems like you have a couple different excuses.
I have no idea why I was suspended and I don't know how long it lasts or what to do.
Suspensions last until we can trust that you won't make the same mistakes again.
Two primary issues:
- Some of your edit reasons came off as pretty rude.
- Also, editing just to change "soccer" into "football" is unacceptable. Both are valid terms for the sport.
I've been suspended here and I want to know, well, what now.
~JDGreatest, the spat of editing behavior, which is not limited to dislike of a particular show (as unacceptable as that is), is overall a bad look. You don't seem to have very good judgment in what belongs on a wiki.
Hey, I've been suspended from editing on here. I don't know what I did wrong, but if I did I apologize and it won't happen again. That said, I'd like to know why I got suspended. I didn't get a PM.
Adding my last post, is there a way I can make an appeal to have editing rights again? I promise whatever I did to get suspended will not happen again.
~jonsei93: When I was looking at your edits on Characters.Ennui Go, I noticed several Zero Context Examples and some grammar errors. I then did some digging and found that you copied the character descriptions verbatim from the comic's cast page. We have a zero-tolerance stance on plagiarism.
Willbyr Thank you for informing me of this. I really should've known better than to copy the cast page. Also, I meant to fix those grammatical mistakes.
My humblest apologies. It will not happen again.

Is there a way you can delete my edits from the viewable history? Because I would like to get as much defamatory stuff about that person as possible down now that she restored her videos to a playlist fans can watch.
Hello! I've been suspended but I'm not sure what the reason is. The last message I've received is from years ago, and I'm not aware of any recent misconduct on my part. The last edit I made was to the Enemies Equals Greatness page earlier today, if that helps.
Hello. I have been blocked for over a week now and I want to get back to edits. I apologize for my bad launch pads.
~Dratewka, it doesn't seem that you consider how your tone comes across. The ATT linked is not the only example of rudeness, unfortunately, as we have had these concerns raised to us privately before. Having been part of that ATT, I see that you argued that you were only rude in response, but A) that's simply not true, and B) you wouldn't have an excuse even if it were. If you cannot participate civilly when conversing with others, a wiki is not a great fit.
~CGSFH, we already removed your edits. We cannot remove them from the edit history, nor is it likely we would if we could. It certainly seems like you just created an account here to rant out your anger about a creator's actions. That is also not the kind of behavior we want here.
~HeWhoMustNotBeUsernamed, I'm genuinely not certain if you even realized what you were doing. This account has been suspended since 2016. You never finished off your appeal and that account has no ability to edit, certainly not to Enemies Equals Greatness as you've stated here...that page did get edited on the date given by MadAnthony94 who has some IP similarities to you and has been editing since 2016. This is one of the oddest cases of self-reporting ban evasion I've ever seen.
~okthen789, you've shown grammar improvement here, but I've yet to see you in the Get Help with English thread, which would help tremendously with our confidence in you.

I'm sorry. I won't make the same mistake again.
Ok, so that's the set up. What now? Considering that I usually don't participate in forum activities and such (unless trying to figure out a specific trope) I don't exactly see how my tone during a random stint there affects my regular activity. I'm not denying that I am rude toward people I consider rude toward me or that I didn't sneer on those specific people for that particular reason, I'm simply asking what about the regular stuff - editing, adding and such.
I'd like to finish my work with Synchronicity from that ATT link, because unlike rest of that discussion, it was productive and to the point, but unfortunately got cut short right when we were getting to nail it down.
Unrelated note - I've got two unread messages in my inbox and can't access them. I was waiting for a note from Anton F regarding massive re-write of No More Emperors. I have no way to inform him about my suspension nor verify if the notes are indeed his. Could the message be passed to him, considering my suspension might take some time and he's left hanging?
~lop90able
Page blanking is considered an act of vandalism. Also, in regards to the work existing...a YouTube search did give results.
So, try again with your explanation as to why you blanked the page.
