This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.

Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

Hi. Well, I... took the one-year hiatus, posted recently wanting to help, and... you know, nombretomado had said to come back at the allotted time, and it's a day past that, so... I was wondering, do I have my editing privileges back? I mean, I don't particularly want to post now, but you know, just wondering. Especially since I feel as if I'd take that which I don't understand to the hivemind now. I'm serious. Don't even want to edit, don't even know what the current Death Battle is, and I'm kind of on hold from VS stuff. So... I stayed away for a year. What do you say, guys...?

I'm glad that you're feeling more attuned about how things go about. Even if you don't care about Death Battle anymore, if you do, then someone went and created a DB cleanup thread that would be relevant.

~Dawalk86, not all bad edits are caught, which can result in situations like yours where you feel something is acceptable, because you saw others doing it. However, the turning point is when someone notices, tries to fix the problem, and then you ignore or disregard the correction. That's the crux. I'll release your suspension.
I would like to know why I was suspended. I believe that my edits should be kept and that even though I broke the rules, I wholeheartedly believe that the edits I made were in good taste. I removed some because they were not good examples. I admit I make a mistake deleting some of the page images but beyond that the deletion of certain examples should not be a problem because they did not clearly illustrate the trope.

~awesomealbert: Removing not only pics that are marked as being selected by Image Pickin', but commented-out tags for cleanup efforts like Image Pickin', is severely frowned on. Also, I find it hard to buy your reasoning considering how your edits are focused on purging Asterix and Lucky Luke images and examples, which reads like clear bias against those works.
~Willbyr: I did not delete those images out of any particular disdain for Lucky Luke or Asterix, and on pages such as Nominal Hero, I removed the example from the series in question because I did not believe it fit the the trope or was an adequate example, the characters portrayed in asterix are undoubtedly heroes, comedic ones but still. And on other pages such as the darker and Edgier subpage for comic books and the Referenced by page for Asterix, I fully intended to replace with images I deemed appropriate. I am not biased against either of these works. I also did not know that removing pages chosen in Image Pickin' threads were a bannable offense. I am also not prejudiced against Franco-Belgian comics because I also removed examples from Spanish and Dutch comics as well.

Hello, how long may my suspension last? I was suspended earlier this month IIRC. I do not plan to incur on an Edit War again btw.
~ritzoreo, suspensions typically only last as long as it takes for us to discuss with you the issues, and feel confident these issues won't recur.
It's good to hear you don't intend to Edit War again. Can you clarify for me what you should be doing instead, if someone removes an edit you added? (Or, if someone adds back an edit you delete?)
Well, having read what I was shown by Fighteer about the issue, I plan to follow the TV Trope rule of talking about an edit in the discussion thread of a given article. I was not even aware that I was starting an Edit War. Had I noticed it, I would have avoided it completely.

Hello. I misunderstood the requirements that must be met for a trope to be eligible for launching, as there was a box of text at the bottom of the page of the nascent trope that said that it had fulfilled the conditions for launch, but it is overtly evident that I misunderstood the rules of proper conduct that I was meant to follow, as the net amount of hats the trope received was insufficient to meet eligibility requirements. For that and any other transgressions I have unknowingly committed, I apologize. You do not have to worry; I will return to noninteraction, as is my typical form of interaction with TV Tropes and its community of users. You will never hear from me again. I wish to know how long my suspension is.
I am new to TV Tropes and I often hold whatever opinion I have pretty tightly, even if i have to use other posts to prove a point. I'm sorry for my actions and I wish to continue.
~Electrotechman, take a breath. We don't need or want statements of goodbye or promises of seclusion. All we want to know is that the mistake won't happen again. You rogue-launched a trope, you acknowledge you did not recognize that this was against the rules. That's a great start. Have you checked out TLP Guidelines?

I have read the section of the page that explains launching criteria and general etiquette, and have favorited it so that I can use it as a reference where necessary. Seeing as I do not enjoy writing unless I know exactly what I am doing and what I want to write it is extremely unlikely that I will ever create a trope myself, and so I did not read that section, but I want to make clear that I did it not as a snub to yourself and the rest of the administration, as I recognize my folly and seek to make amends, but because I recognize that critique of a nascent trope is where I will be interacting with the TLP community/process if at all. Thank you for your time.

Putting aside the fact that this makes you look like a ban-evader (as the text you copied was from a former user), it's disrespectful and lazy to present someone else's ideas as your own.

Well, let's take the larger point then: why are you plagiarizing Villains Wiki? I continually find myself surprised by the ... fervor, shall we say ... directed at the Complete Monster trope, with some people apparently desperately attached to their ideas about it. When we started applying rigorous standards, a bunch of people who couldn't handle it decided to Start My Own, with predictable results. Now, of course, they come back here using their own work as "evidence", apparently completely unaware of the irony.
Rant aside, none of that matters. You are committing plagiarism. That gets you banned everywhere, always.

Hello, I think I’ve been suspended most likely for creating a new account under a different email. I did this because I wanted a different username from this account, which I have had for 5 years now and now dislike the handle for. I understand that this may have warranted a suspension and regret doing so, and would much rather still be able to edit than have a different account name.
