This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.
The Forum Rules apply here.
Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

I was wondering if I could start editing again, since I now have a better idea as to how the whole process works. Please let me know, thanks.

I take full responsibility on what I did, and I promise to do my best to inform you about my image fiascoes.
I got really interested in this site due to all its references and names to other media and lists for many movies, shows, games, et cetera.Okay, here's the deal. Indeed, you are here due to the image changes you made without discussion. One thing I also noticed: on one of them, Playful Otter, there was also a hidden comment which showed that the image was discussed before, and asked not to change or remove without discussion. So, we can add an ignored comment on top of that.
You can find information on how we deal with images here. Note that among the things to avoid is picking an image solely to Entry Pimp, which I remember you confessing to doing during our PM conversation.

she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportLet's hope you're true to your word, ~clilker. Releasing your suspension.
~Gravity Graedon
We take rogue launches seriously, especially when the draft is not yours and no one is discussing a launch. Just because a draft has earned 5 hats does not mean "launch right away".
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportI want to edit again please. I promise to be better this time.
I understand, thank you for clarifying. If you'd please release this suspension, it won't happen again.
~Cybran General Sturm: We will give you another chance to post responsibly. Use it well.
~Dinogal95: I'll restore your editing privileges. While your grammar has improved, I recommend that you not attempt to create any new wiki pages unless you get advice first.
~Disney Fan 94: You are here because you rogue-launched a Trope Launch Pad proposal. Our rules on this are clear: you may not launch a TLP without its owner's permission, unless it is Up for Grabs, and you may not launch any TLP without participating in the discussion and waiting at least 24 hours after declaring your intention. See TLP Guidelines for more information.
~Gravity Graedon: Very well. This is your second suspension. There will be no lenience for a third. Your suspension is released.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Excuse me, please. I would like to know why you suspended me? I am just editing pages and not sure why I'm all of the sudden banned.
I'm not the best at keeping track of time but I believe it's been the week I suggested before the edit ban on myself should be lifted; may I have it lifted now? I re-read the Edit War page thoroughly so I'm pretty sure I can avoid another problem.
~Europeiscool, please explain the reviews (now-deleted) you left on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
~LovePsychothefirst, you're released. We really do not want to see another Edit War, alright?
I appear to have been suspended. May I ask why?
I notice that the YMMV page for Watchmen (2019) has been put under administrative lock, and I recently made a few edits there. Does it have anything to do with that?
Friscokid, does the name TheMightyHeptagon mean anything to you? Bear in mind that we are not idiots and know how to investigate these things.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Hi everyone, I noticed that I had my edit permissions revoked. I looked back at my last edits so I'm guessing this issue the Edit War I got caught on the Red Hood and Red Hood and the Outlaws related pages. I think an explanation for that is in order. I'm a huge follower of that series and I recently noticed that the pages were outdated and had a bunch of tropes that showed a very evident bias from a troper towards the series writer, Scott Lobdell. So I took upon myself to clean up, update and fix so it would remain as objective as possible so it could provide useful information to whoever read those entries. This evidently upset the other troper (Hello 9876) who promptly undid most of my changes without even stating why. Since I didn't agree with that, I changed it back and thus, I got caught in the aforementioned Edit War.
I tried adding proper examples, sources and explaining reasons whenever was possible but to no avail. Now, I had never found myself in a similar situation before so this went for a while until I finally decided to ask a mod to check the pages in question and see what they could do about it. When I was looking around I found the wiki policies about Edit Warring and found that unknowingly I had made many mistakes in the handling of the situation. It was too late to mend them so I decided to leave those pages alone and focus my efforts on pages of other media I enjoy (although for the record, I'm not satisfied with leaving the Red Hood pages as they are).
With all that said, I understand a suspension period is in order since unknowingly or not, I still broke the rules and I swear to not get caught in such wars again. But as I said above, I want to share my love for certain works with everyone else, so I'd like to ask the moderation team to grant me edit permissions again whenever they see it fit.
Thank you all for reading.
I said Sabrina's basically glorifying devil worship on my reviews because it is in my opinion. Satanism is a key theme of the series and not only is Satanism wrong, but mist people think this is a "darker" remake of a series aimed at families and go into it expecting things to just be slightly intense, and they still love the series even after seeing all the Satanism and gore in it. I personally hate the series and think it's insulting and is an excuse to glorify Satanism and make it a normal thing that should be used for entertainment. Does not help that Netflix rates it PG-14 despite the themes and gore (mainly Zelda cutting Hilda's neck), whike countries such as Russia and Norway rated it it 18.
If this is why I was banned, then I would like to be unblocked and also have it made clear why this review is inappropriate? Was it because I mentioned Satanism and devil worship, or was the review too long?
I posted an appeal on this forum (page 803) about 26 days ago. While a response was given by the mods, my editing privileges have not yet been restored. Is there something I did wrong?
Stay Setsi.~SurroundedByPerverts, nothing is wrong. We don't release suspensions until we get a response and feel confident that the problem will not recur moving forward. If no response is given by the troper appealing, then nothing happens.
That being all clarified, with Septimus' response in mind, how you should handle disagreements on a page is to discuss the contested entry with the other troper(s) involved. That means reaching out to them to discuss: you can hash it out over PMs, the discussion page, or Ask the Tropers, as long as you are trying to resolve it instead of warring it out in a tug-of-war on the page itself. If you acknowledge and agree that you'll be doing this moving forward, then you're all set and we'll release your suspension.
~Europeiscool, the wiki is not a place to play Moral Guardian, nor to have a Single-Issue Wonk. Your first review of that nature was deleted, but you re-posted it, virtually unchanged. Did you take note at all when the first one was deleted?
Hi, saw your reply. I did take note and see my review was gone, but I assumed it just disappeared. Also, thanks for the clarifying on what I did wrong. If I can be unblocked, then I can ensure that if I review something, I don't make that mistake again. Thank you for your time and I appreciate your clarification.
Hello! I have been suspended from editing. I am new here and I don't know what I've been doing wrong. I don't want to fight, I have been trying to follow the rules as best as I can. I am suspecting that I might have edited something from a YMMV page but I have no problem with my edit being taken down, if those are the rules. If I have said something I shouldn't have had I apologize but for the most part I don't try to start an argument or hurt anybody. Please if there's a problem, could you say so that I can correct it? Thank you.
~Tzitzimine, yes, this about the Edit War. It seems you've actually been suspended before for edit-warring, so it's unfortunate we're seeing you back in here for the same issue. We always aim to have the problematic behavior nipped in the bud during the first talk.
So, what's happened? The previous suspension was in 2015, so perhaps it's been a while, but I think you should have known what an edit war is this time around and been able to take steps to avoid it, per the last discussion had. Fighteer made it pretty clear:
~Europeiscool, I don't know what to make about your case. A viewpoint that sees Satanism as a legitimate threat to our youths is very....Church Lady from Saturday Night Live, but this is the only place you've expressed it. As far as I can tell, it hasn't seeped into your edits, so either you are trolling the Reviews section, or are somehow keeping it separate from your editing habits.
I think the Reviews ban has to stand for now. I'm willing to let you back onto the wiki edits, with the expectation that you do not start moralizing there now. Are you agreeable to this?
~astrs, thanks for coming by. While we appreciate that you've been trying your best to follow the rules, it looks like you've stumbled into perpetuating an Edit War on YMMV.The Lion King II Simbas Pride. Can you take a look at the edit war page and let me know if you see what you did wrong?

There's a misunderstanding in the Crisis on Infinite Earths (2019) page. I got confused on why Silverblade2 removed my entries so I restored them and also removed the other hidden entries. He/She then P Md me about the rules and I was about to fix them (I was editing another page at the time I received his/her message) but he/she already beat me to it.
I have been banned from Launch Pad activity due to launching an unnecessary page (Sesame Street International Coproductions) that has since been deleted. How can I regain the ability to edit these pages?
