This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.

Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

I'll do so by no longer acting biased towards characters and lean towards more constructive editing.
~dayandnight, we like to hear that you plan on being more constructive, but there are specific steps for avoiding an Edit War (see the page for reference). If someone deletes an example you added, how do you resolve the dispute?
I discuss the situation with them personally using politeness, and if it doesn't help, I contact a moderator.

Hey Guys I been suspended on this from site, I wanna know the reason why I was suspended so that I can understand and hopefully you can un-suspend me from editing please tell me.
I would like another chance to use the launchpad, I now know only to write the trope ideas but not launch them, that it your job to do that.

~Dannyosei, we've got some concerns about your grammar. We love people contributing to the wiki, but if your edits have a lot of grammar errors, it only creates clean-up work for other editors.
As I'm looking at your edit history, we may need to discuss Zero Context Examples as well, as you re-commented several ZCE's on the Town Girls page without adding context.
We have assistance available for editors who have problems with grammar in a forum thread, but if you feel you are capable of writing correctly on your own, please prove it in your posts here. Your first post itself had quite a few errors.
So uh... I'm currently having an ongoing discussion in Unreleased Work Policy Feedback regarding a bunch of material surrounding Death Stranding, and I've found myself suspended from adding any more posts to the discussion or edits in general, and my entries of concern (as well as stuff after it) system-reverted without any notification or explanation.
In the discussion we were still negotiating the policy of what counts as Speculative Troping and citation — when my entries were originally delisted I took to Unreleased Work Page Cleanup, and there I was suggested to remedy with specific wording of edits, which I did. The discussion in Policy Feedback is still ongoing as we're negotiating the nature of the policy on making entries for unreleased works, and whether the moderation of my entries were legitimate/pragmatic or not seems to go 50-50 in favor of and against my concerns, and everyone's presenting their fixes, nothing decisive has been stated... but now all of a sudden I can't contribute at all to it, and all of my work on the Death Stranding page was undone with no justification at all this time. No edit reasons, no direct messages, no indirect message through forum posts, nothing. What gives?

Okay, I found the discussion for why I got reported. So... I was asked to fill parameters by High Crate who originally delisted all my works under "Speculative Troping - no citations", negotiated with him on what constitutes as both Speculative Troping AND citations in Page Cleanup, came to a standstill because they decided to stop arguing their point and shunted me to Policy Feedback, so I followed a proposed compromise from his suggestion that was additionally vouched for by a few others in Policy Feedback... and they STILL sics the mods on me, all while never pinging or messaging me that there was still a problem.
Yeah, I'd like to dispute this ban. I've been nothing but compliant with High Crate's demands in my last several edits and have been given the (admittedly unofficial) go-ahead from other sources to do it, and yet this ban is on the claims of me doing the exact opposite. All the while, they've made no attempt at actually correcting my entries which they constantly assures there is a way to do that I don't follow. I think they just have a problem about me adding content in general, like they've developed a personal vendetta against me or something and are disguising it.

~number9robotic, we're having a bit of a discussion (both mod-only and on the thread) about the unreleased work policy in general in the feedback policy, and what is the line in the question of policy enforcement. Paging ~Berrenta for her thoughts on that, as I'd like us all to be on the same page before we handle your case.

Okay, ~number9robotic, I visited the appeal thread regarding prerelease content. Many have thought that you were merely jumping the gun regarding the edits done. The edits were fine; only issue was that you rushed them before consensus was finalized.

Yeah, that's my fault, sorry about that. As pointed out a few times, I was under the impression that since nobody was saying anything to my suggestion of "okay, if this is all I need to work on entries, I'll just go ahead, and took that noncommunication as approval.
I was lowkey operating on the "it's easier to receive forgiveness than for permission" principle and realized a little after writing my entries that I probably should've just waited for a proper go-ahead, and that I likely didn't give anyone the proper time to respond to me, but I felt that the entries were written under what I believed was a fair, temporarily feasible and justifiable compromise regarding the unreleased work policy regardless of any concurrent negotiations surrounding it. But this is still definitely all on me, and if this is a mistake severe enough that it got the banhammer called on me, I'll be sure to be more careful about that.

Hello again. I'm really trying to understand what you expect from me, and I find myself sort of at a loss. When last we spoke, we agreed that I would contact the moderators if I found myself becoming frustrated with another troper in the unreleased work cleanup thread, or found myself deadlocked in a conflict that I was having trouble resolving.
I did exactly that, and yet here we are again. I'm honestly confused.
~Tropers/{{55975964}}: We're not going to release your suspension with grammar like that. And this is before we get into you edit warring a plagiarised entry on NightmareFuel.Beyblade Burst.

~HighCrate, I'm just not sure how to communicate this to you more than what has already been said in the appeal to moderation thread, and elsewhere. And, frankly, I am going to consult with other mods to have them chime in, because I find your case personally frustrating. But here are some initial thoughts, just to get them out on the table.
Something that has become apparent as the months have rolled along and various people have taken at whack at implementing the fairly newly minted unreleased works policy in good faith is that you are unrelentingly hardnosed. In general - you appear to largely be uninterested in compromise. Concessions are a rare fruit from you.
Perhaps this has worked out for you elsewhere, but it has proven to be an impediment to constructive discussion more often than not in this particular case.
So what are we to do? Even the tropers who have disagreed with your unreleased work policy interpretation think you to be a helpful contributor elsewhere. We can't ban you from a specific thread, nor can we limit your edits to pages for works that have only been released.
But we simply cannot continue to abide this circumstance, which has happened more than once:
- There's a question posed about unreleased works.
- You have one interpretation
- Others disagree.
- You continue to have your interpretation.
- Others disagree.
- Perhaps in a well-meaning effort to avoid becoming personal, or uncivil, you remove yourself from the conversation ostensibly, but then take action to have your way enforced. In the latest case, it was hollering for a mod, which led to a suspension. We later discussed and concluded the holler and request was not appropriate.
All the mods who have reviewed this latest instance are exasperated with this trend. We think your contributions have been the direct cause of an abnormal amount of strife. And we are unwilling to continue to play babysitter when it would be much simpler to remove you from the equation.
To sum up: Every policy has its detractors. Every policy has its pushbacks, and protests, and criticisms. But not every clean-up thread has had the amount of sturm und drang that this has, and I think you are playing more of a part in that than you realize or are willing to admit.
Now that is my piece on the matter. I will let other mods have their say as well.
(I don't wanna get in between discussions, but is my suspension still supposed to be in place? Are we waiting for the newly-tested ideas for the relevant policy to take effect and be judged on, or is it still in place for a reason out of my knowledge? Regardless, I won't be touching Death Stranding for a while just to be sure, though I have other regular pages I'd like to get back to working on haha)
