Because Kinkajou told me to.
So yeah, anything about Final Fantasy! I guess this would make a good starting point: Which are your favorite games in the series and why?
My two all-time favorites are tied between Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy IX. They're both very fun games that don't take themselves too seriously while still being legitimately emotional. On top of that, Zidane is my favorite Final Fantasy lead in the entire series. He's light-hearted, fun, and a generally nice guy to be around. FFV also has the advantage of having one of, if not the best, Job System in an FF game. Both FFV and FFIX make characters customizable while keeping them all unique in their own way. I'm also very fond of Final Fantasy I; it hasn't aged well, but it's classic, and like FFV, I played it tons as a kid.
I assume we'll drift around to various other FF-related discussions as the topic grows, right?

I mean the only reason they have Lulu Pregnant is cause she'd ruin the dynamic they wanted the girls to have. Paine might complain but she for the most part begrudging goes along with Yuna and Rikku's antics. Lulu would basically be too much of a killjoy.
then again her and Wakka getting together is always a sore spot for some people.
FFIV is one of my favorites and TAY was nice to play. Its story, however, is very weak, and doesn't expand on the original but adds new things that make even less sense. It doesn't help that every character tale ends on the heroes losing in some way. Funny enough, its Edward's tale where they finally get a slight victory.
-Witty line-I think I could let Lulu's pregnancy slide a little more if she wasn't wearing a fucking corset. It is still ridiculous either way, but the corset serves to make it even more ridiculous.
Though Wakka naming his kid in the Al Bhed language is a genuinely sweet gesture
though the kid follows Three-Month-Old Newborn rules and has a full head of hair including Wakka's spike
> I think I could let Lulu's pregnancy slide a little more if she wasn't wearing a fucking corset.
Well it could be a maternity corset thats nowhere as tight..
New theme music also a boxOh wow, 7R's hard mode doesn't let you refill MP at all? I foresee this being a super fun and fair mode.
So the third anniversary of Opera Omina GL is next month and instead of a Global-first character, we’re getting a Global first LD weapon. And looks like that honor goes to Balthier, along with his Tactics WotL outfit as an alternate costume
Also Golden Cactuar weapon skins for all gun users.

A nice acoustic cover of Cosmo Canyon for your listening pleasure.
On the Japanese side, OO finally gets a villain rep for XIII
Also a heads up that there’s gonna be a VIIR Orchestra next month. Given how SE usually likes to announce stuff at these things we might actually find out what that “Ever Crisis” thing is there.
One day XIV will get it's villain rep.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.XIV gets the short end of the stick basically across the board.
Bart: BS
You know I am wondering why you never fought another L'cie and their Eidolon in XIII
since the Fal'cie can easily have L'cie set against each other

Emet forced to lose access to his true form: See. This is exactly why we seek the Great Rejoining' now im stuck in this flesh and have to take care of it! Wheres an arrogant grandson with a fresh batch of clomes when you need them?
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Cid Reins was a L'Cie when you fight him. But no Eidolon for him :p
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyHonestly, after going through the story of XIV and it’s expansions I really want to see Ardbert or Estinean in OO.
Cid Raines the boss fight they liked so much they used it two more times
and technically Cid was Cei'th at that point

Zenos and Emet Selch would be great for Opera Omnia.
Of course they can use Gunbreaker Thancred, Black Mage Y'shtola and Urianger already as well, probably at least Ryne and the Exarch as well.
That is some smooth looking art.
I almost want this guy to take over official art duties.
One Strip! One Strip!Reddit reminded me it was on this day in 1997 Final Fantasy VII was released!
New theme music also a box24 years... I'm guessing they're planning on release Remake vol. 2 on the 25th anniversary.
Sounds extremely unlikely to me. Part 1 already took half a decade if not more to be finished, and given how much the game is getting scaled up content wise, I can't imagine Part 2 getting released as early as next year unless it was literally just the Kalm flashback.
I do not expect to see VIIR Part 2 till after XVI, and even that is probably mid to late 2022 at the earliest.
They already made a lot of the tools and assets they need, and started working on it before the first one was finished, so it's gonna come out lot faster than that. Maybe not fast enough to make the anniversary, but I don't think it's impossible.
It's actually an iteration of the ATB system as it was envisioned (i.e. multiple characters acting independently when the bar fills). And it was quite successful and interesting. Different from X but still interesting.
As for the locations, they could have struck a better balance between new areas and existing ones that show how the world of X has changed. Though, to be fair, most of the final areas in every chapter are actually new.
The recycled character models are definitely inexcusable, especially in the case of Lulu. Don't make her pregnant if you can't design her!
