Because Kinkajou told me to.
So yeah, anything about Final Fantasy! I guess this would make a good starting point: Which are your favorite games in the series and why?
My two all-time favorites are tied between Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy IX. They're both very fun games that don't take themselves too seriously while still being legitimately emotional. On top of that, Zidane is my favorite Final Fantasy lead in the entire series. He's light-hearted, fun, and a generally nice guy to be around. FFV also has the advantage of having one of, if not the best, Job System in an FF game. Both FFV and FFIX make characters customizable while keeping them all unique in their own way. I'm also very fond of Final Fantasy I; it hasn't aged well, but it's classic, and like FFV, I played it tons as a kid.
I assume we'll drift around to various other FF-related discussions as the topic grows, right?

Maybe it's because they're sold at different prices depending on the region.
Life is more fun with infinite MP.I do not remember a fishing minigame in XII.
I’m mostly going by this tweet from the NPD’s director.
Here’s the full report. Sales wise, VIIR is the 6th best selling Play Station game of 2020 and the 10th best selling game overall.

Hm, thanks for the links and info.
Sorry Triple Triad is the best FF minigame
:))))
GIVE ME YOUR FACEPhilosopher knows where it's at.
What, no love for Celes's Fishing Adventure?
Eh. As I recall nothing much comes from it.
Then again, nothing comes from Celes' diving adventure either.
.....ooh. Why did I do that? Now I'm going to hell.
One Strip! One Strip!Triple Triad is addicting and spits on the concept of difficulty while playing FFVIII's main game. In fact, the hardest part of VIII is trying to not spread the Random rule.
FFIX's card game was like a Dollar Store knock off of Triad.
-Witty line-Yeah, Triple Triad probably is the best FF minigame, I doubt many will argue against that. It could get broken in VIII though. I liked it a lot more in XIV.
I still think Sphere Break is underrated though :D
Tetra Master was basically
Guys We made triple Triad TOO rewarding and bit too Simple to beat
Lets make something complicated, with a element of luck so you can't just bumrush players with your best cards... and rewards you with NOTHING but more cards to play the game!
one game later
Why does no one like this game?
Triple Triad was god awful and the sidequest linked to it was gross. I'd play infinite Blitzball, Tetra Master and Sphere Break instead.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerSphere Break was FAR worse, its side quest was tied to 100%. 1 time only you had to win vs shinra who cheats... and no saving between fights, if you fail 100% is gone forever and the chance to get the Lady Luck Dress sphere is locked for a good while.
You can save between matches (except the final qualifier and Shinra's match)
Life is more fun with infinite MP.Shinra's still a little fucking shit
Until you play Creature Creator and find out he's terrifying.
Life is more fun with infinite MP.See I never got the International version so I never got Creature creator and its loads of playable characters
I heard some of the Fiend Tales are all kinds of fucked up... or exist only to make you cry

It's in X/X-2 HD.
Life is more fun with infinite MP.@Frozenworld: Its why the Shinra Corporation is evil. XD
Watch SymphogearNo? He's a very easy opponent, especially compared to some of the optional ones. All you need is a coin with echo. You can trounce him in 7 rounds easily. And you don't need a guide telling you where to lose super valuable cards with multiple points in the story being missable. Oh and the rules for Sphere Break don't require constant monitoring or they spread in an idiotic way.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerWhat.
Sphere Break vs Shinra was entirely luck based, you dont get any input on which numbers show up. With the 20 min+ reset time each time you lose...
Yeah no I would take the reading what she says to determine which card to lose to her any day.

I'd agree that Blitzball is way more fun than Triple Triad. And also that Sphere Break is, surprisingly, more fun than TT as well. My big gripe with SB is that sometimes, the game just gives you a 1 purely as a combo breaker and you kind of have to deal with that. Otherwise, I rarely had to restart any games.
Yeah, the numbers you get literally do not matter unless you get a 1. As long as you have two odds and two evens in the gold coins that you choose, as well as an Echo coin, any combination is possible. It's easy math. I've only ever restarted once and that was because I was still getting accustomed to the rules. And I didn't need an entire guide for this. The only thing I need is to be able to do multiplications.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - Fighteer
XV's fishing is the best minigame in FF history. True facts.
I notice you said "revenue" and not "sales." So what does revenue entail? Merch and the like, too?
Can you post a link to this info? Just curious and would like to share it on other forums I frequent.
