Because Kinkajou told me to.
So yeah, anything about Final Fantasy! I guess this would make a good starting point: Which are your favorite games in the series and why?
My two all-time favorites are tied between Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy IX. They're both very fun games that don't take themselves too seriously while still being legitimately emotional. On top of that, Zidane is my favorite Final Fantasy lead in the entire series. He's light-hearted, fun, and a generally nice guy to be around. FFV also has the advantage of having one of, if not the best, Job System in an FF game. Both FFV and FFIX make characters customizable while keeping them all unique in their own way. I'm also very fond of Final Fantasy I; it hasn't aged well, but it's classic, and like FFV, I played it tons as a kid.
I assume we'll drift around to various other FF-related discussions as the topic grows, right?

It saddens me as Troy, Tavis, and Laura have been gone in the likes of FE and SMT over time.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Troy Baker is EVERYWHERE as far as I know. He was even Revolver Ocelot.

Growing up, it's like a civil war, don't turn away, it's something you can't ignore...Dissidia NT to go Free-to-Play on November 22 in Japan
Night Sky Prince's video on the news
From the article:
The characters that can be used in the free-to-play will switch out at fixed intervals.
This is a free-to-play title that specializes in battles.
Story Mode is not playable, and the specifications of some game modes are also different from the full version.
The free-to-play version can battle with other users of the free-to-play version, as well as users of the full version.
Save data from the free-to-play version can be carried over to the full version.
Some data from the arcade version can be carried over to the free-to-play version. (Only usable for content with lifted restrictions.)

I'll give Square Enix this: they're dedicated to maintaining and improving their products. You can't realistically say they don't care with how much extra effort they've sunk into XV, XIV, and now NT.
That's far more than can be said about certain game publishers.
Well, the fact they abandoned XV means they aren't that caring about the fanbase. They are still a business.
Mileena MadnessAfter two years of a combination of paid and completely free new content ranging from collaboration events with brand spanking new assets and cutscenes, new story cutscenes pertinent to the actual plot, 4 DLC episodes, something like 5 sets of bonus bosses, all kinds of tertiary new features like the monster truck and bestiary, and other things I'm forgetting.
Yeah, they cancelled the upcoming DLC they'd announced aside from Ardyn's, but I think it's a bit disingenuous to say they've abandoned a game that has seen extensive triple A support for far longer than your typical single player title. They probably cut it off because all the extra stuff was losing them money in the long run.

This. If it's not profitable, what's the point in continuing it?

I'm not sure if I'd call most of those updates 'improvements', moreso pointless busywork or janky minigames that weren't any fun to do.
I'm hearing PC support got fully dropped, too. Doesn't affect me, but sucks for anyone waiting for that level editor I guess.
Yeah, a lot of them were meandering, glorified advertisements, or self indulgent, and personally I don't think any of it was good
but they were definitely trying to make the game better for them all, and while the effort might of been misplaced, I think it counts for at least something. Other than Capcom and their attempt to reboot Street Fighter V to middling success, it's very rare for a company to repeatedly try and salvage their products in ways that are still mostly consumer friendly.
I had fun with... some of what they gave us, like the ability to switch who we're controlling in combat, and the Comrades stuff, even if that wasn't quite the most polished multiplayer experience I've had. Most everything else they've done since release was inoffensive at least.
My biggest issue with the announcement is that they ended on Ardyn, making me wish that they started with Luna or Aranea instead.
I mean unless the DLC restructured her base character and role in the main game, Luna's would have been a waste of time.

This song needs more love.Besides best girl already has his alternate happy ending with his Husbando Noct.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.I prefer that or whatever they planned to do over Ardyn. I feel like her and Aranea are in more need of content meant for them over getting more of the antagonist.

Aranea was the best thing about XV by a longshot. I'm not really sure how good her DLC would of been but I'd take something expanding on her over a dude we pretty much already know everything we need to know about any day, especially since he's basically Noctis with some kind of air dash from the looks of the gameplay.
Denying content for characters who are inherently better than Luna just doesn't make sense. Even if you arenmt into him, a lot more people are. Especially how dickish the Gods were in the backstory.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. Also I think it's funny how in all of this people sort of forgot that there was also supposed to be a Noctis DLC in addition to the other three.
This song needs more love.I've only played the PSX trilogy and FFVI. Where should I go from there?
There's a difference between forgetting and not caring
If you like more traditional JRPGs play X and 1-6.
XI's great but an MMO and not everyone's cup of tea.
XII is a it more divisive but still pretty good.
XIII is a lot more divisive but has its fans.
XIV is the best Wo W clone on the market.
XV is also very divisive but everyone agrees the bromance is strong and it might be worth it if story and character interaction is more your thing.
Edited by Hashil on Nov 9th 2018 at 8:52:41 AM
Honestly I have to wonder if after all this fuss, is XV even gonna be a game that stays with people? I don't deny that it has a sizable number of fans but so does every AAA game that people eventually move on from. With the way people talk about it I'm not sure it would really be remembered down the line if it wasn't a Final Fantasy title.

IV, V, X, and XII probably. IV and V will probably be the most familiar to you; both X and XII have different battle systems, so they're more unique.

I know Hope's VA also voiced Phineas from Phineas and Ferb.
