The description of Digital Avatar starts with the following:

The modern form of "Avatar", instead of the older God in Human Form, that most people are likely to encounter in Real Life: a digital representation of a person in a computer world, broadly, the Internet. It can be as simple as the small graphic attached to posters' names on countless web forums, blogs, and the like; or it can be as complicated as a fully-animated 2D or 3D game character. For futuristic incarnations, add a dose of Virtual Reality to the mix.

While all examples I've seen on the trope page involve some kind of 3D or VR avatars, the aforementioned quote seems to indicate "the small graphic attached to posters' names on countless web forums, blogs, and the like" are also part of that trope—and in that case, would it just be as Chairsy as "digital avatars exist"?

Especially, many works that involve social media would have most of the cast having that kind of avatar, and the reader can often deduce the Watsonian reason they chose such avatars, and as I mentioned above, it sounds like they're within scope, despite sounding quite chairs to me.
