What if the whole movie was a hilarious satire where Pooh keeps "accidentally killing people" while he hangs out with his friends in the Hundred Acre Wood. You keep playing this cheerful laid back music as people keep dying. Like Tigger decides to drive a car and runs over some kids without looking back, thinking it's all part of the ride and making stupid jokes to Pooh.

Oh wait, Tigger isn't public domain.... yet.

Hey we made a page 2. And I still have the rank the remaining Pooh movies.

Urgh..... The idea behind such a lazy knock off slasher with no originality or thought just pisses me off.

A Winnie the Pooh horror movie just seems like it couldn't be done. But it if HAD to be done, you have to try something kind of unique.

Like what if the movie was just Pooh and his friends accidentally killing people while he and the Hundred Acre Wood gang were just having a good time. Complete with upbeat happy music to contrast the carnage. That could be kind of funny.

I'm a huge fan of the Winnie the Pooh franchise! My first introduction to the series was through The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and then I watched the New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and man, did I loved watching the New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh! I honestly think that the New Adventures was the true high point of the franchise and it did such a fantastic job at telling some compelling stories with this franchise. Probably my favorite episodes from this series were the Kessie episodes and "Cleanliness is Next to Impossible," the episode with Crud in it.

Any reason Disney isn't focusing much on Pooh these days? Back in the late 1990s until 2011, there was at least one new Pooh production every year. Now, it's really slowed down a lot with the only post-2011 Pooh projects being Christopher Robin, the Doc Mcstuffins crossover, and being in Kingdom Hearts III.

I don't count Playdate with Winnie the Pooh since that's not part of the mainstream Pooh media (with the different animation and voices).

Why have Pooh productions dwindled after 2011? Did the financial failure of the 2011 movie really make Disney think Pooh wasn't popular anymore?

Glad to see a new member of this thread. I have been uniting Pooh fans. A victory in and of itself.

A point I love about The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, besides it being a genuinely funny and charming show that makes me happy even as a grown ass adult, is that there is an undeniable charm to the characters and setting. The world is just so vibrant and the characters are so entertaining that you just get sucked into it.

An episode I loved was when Eyeore tried to be popular with Tigger's advice and finally decided to become Tigger! It led to chaos and joy that my childhood remembered fondly. Of particular hilarity was when Tigger gets bounced by Eyeore. The indignant expression on his face just won me over. But the real gem was when Eyeore decided to get some "speed and grace" and donned a bunch of roller skates, only to lose control immediately.

You can probably imagine the chaos that followed.

[up] It may be dead to Disney but it is kept alive by many a fan, including all the You Tube poop creators who grew up with the series and throw all these parodies at us. Many of which are pretty damn funny.

Another memorable episode of "New Adentures" where they throw a birthday party for Tigger.

"What if I was born on some day other than my birthday?!"

Followed by a weird trip down a well that leads to some world where Tigger is allowed like 100 wishes... Yeah this one's crazy.

Hot take, but while New Adventures is a good show, I think it's largely the first season (and bits of the second) that people remember as 'peak' Pooh storytelling, eg. Find Her Keep Her, Cleanliness Next to Impossible, Stripes.

I feel like after that, the show is still okay but kinda generic (though it had a good Grand Finale with the Christmas Special). The plots became more formulaic, mainstays like Kanga and Roo just kinda disappeared and they didn't attempt many powerful stories anymore. Also Paul Winchell leaves as Tigger, and I don't think Jim Cummings had quite nailed his own performance just yet. Probably one of the first instances of "Wait WTF happened to the voice??" I encountered as a kid.

Book of Pooh is kinda underrated as a Pooh show. It's a bit more moralistic and pre-school-ish, but is still fun for all ages, and the characters translate surprisingly well to Muppets.

Oh my lord. Thank you for reminding me that this damn thing exists. What a mindfuck?

Speaking of things, has anyone heard of Tony Silky 99's You Tube Poop/Abridged Series. Before it was cancelled it was abridging New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh but was using A.I. to voice the characters. It was pretty funny at times but also kind of left me feeling really weird. Because Tigger A.I. was based on Paul Winchell. AKA, resurrecting a dead voice actor.

The series has been cancelled because the website used for the AI voices lost access to the Winnie the Pooh characters. The one joke that got me was whenever Rabbit called Tigger a "spring loaded son of a bitch/douchbag/dumbass."

OMG! I remembered that "Too Smart for Strangers" special! I never liked it as a kid because I found it to be so boring and it just felt way too out of character for Pooh, of all characters, to be talking to kids about the dangers of meeting strangers.

Um... closest I can think of is Pooh being featured in the Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue special.

Even then, Pooh couldn't talk about drugs there because Jim Cummings thinks it's out of character for him.

Jim Cummings is a national treasure. A great voice actor and forever in my eyes, the voice of Winnie the Pooh. (And Tigger too.) ,

Part of the charm of The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh is just how likable the characters are and how the dialogue just kind of slaps.

Rabbit: When Pooh Bear comes by wanting more honey, and see's all these for sale signs, he'll think I'm gone!

Eyeore: Why would you want to do that?

Rabbit: Because! That bear is a menace! A disaster!!! He's eaten me out of house and HONEY!!!

Jim was really about to get on the case of the creators of Blood and Honey. The whole reason why Pooh talked in a generic Evil Sounds Deep voice was because Cummings warned Rhys Waterfeld and his crew that if they tried mimicking his voice, they all would have gone straight to court. (though by parody law, I'm not sure if he really would have had much of a case)

On one hand, yeah Jim Cummings is a respected authority on Pooh and any bastardization of the character would have been honestly offensive to me. I would have been furious.

On the other hand, it's not exactly legal to claim that a particular voice is owed to you. If somebody made a Dracula movie I feel like any sort of voice would be acceptable. If that makes sense.

Still, Blood and Honey is a terrible movie with zero creativity and it shows. You need skill to make such a premise and it was clear the writers didn't have anything to flex.

Jim Cummings might have had a case if the impression was so good that critics, news outlets, or parents thought he really was doing the voice.

Theoretically, people could just read the credits, but that requires intelligence...

Remember, we are talking about audiences that are so brain dead that they will eat up all the Disney dog chow that is thrown on the sidewalk. People who will say things like "The Lion King 2019" is a live action movie? It's a computer animated film! What is wrong with people!

Dude, pride rock!

But as for Pooh, I think that Jim Cummings would probably have a visible dislike for A.I. voices such as for Pooh and Tigger and such because he probably doesn't want anyone coming for him... as if people can't tell when a voice is A.I. generated.

I was actually okay with Pooh's portrayal in Cartoon All Stars since he was still being portrayed as an innocent character like he was portrayed as at that point and he didn't get too involved with the drug story to make him seem too out of character.

Out of curiosity what did Cummings think of the South Park Pooh parody, which was also Black Comedy but much more accurate to his portrayal?

Technically though, it's not his voice to claim, he himself is impersonating Sterling Halloway's Pooh.

I kind of love how South Park is the only one who seems to recognize the absurdity of Winnie the Pooh being banned from China.

And Disney is all like "you're a fatass bear!" as if to say that Disney doesn't even respect Pooh.

Well, Pooh and his friends are forever in my childhood and I will find ways to get enjoyment out of them even years later.
