Realized from scenes and website, Berengeria is considered one of more important characters huh. I had kinda just thought of her as cool recruit in Drakehold section x'D

She's one of the characters with a unique (mostly) class.

She's also the Arc Villain of Drakenhold so she's obviously kinda important

[up][up][up] Ren has a bit of story significance especially in Drakenhold, but also in terms of her connection with Travis (one of your starting characters) and some other aspects. She doesn’t stick around through the whole plot, but then most don’t; besides being easier to program, it also lets each country have its own arcs, internal themes and narrative thrusts.

[up] On that note, every country has a Dark Marquess introduced, but not every one of them is it’s main antagonist. Which is interesting asBerengaria only ends up possessed and revealed as the Climax Boss at the very end of Drakenhold (not that it’s hard to predict), so it’s kind of the only country to not have an overall Arc Villain; we have Magellan and Gloucester as the possessed enemies in the south desert, and Giethe has his own mission.

Meanwhile, Cornia has Renault for the initial arc, and of course Galerius is the endgame/Gran Corrine; Elheim has Gailey (initially), and its Dark Marquess is Alcina who is revealed as the bigger threat. Then in Bastorias we have Reimann (incidentally the only one of the Four Traitors in the prologue to have relevance past one mission) who succeeds if you don’t free the area, but is backstabbed by Elgor the Dark Marquess at the final juncture; they share the role more evenly but again he’s upstaged. Which leaves Albion, which is the only country where its Dark Marquess isn’t the Climax Boss; Nigel is clearly subordinate to Sanatio and helps stop him in the end; it also has the two remaining traitors, Bradley and Hodel, who not unlike Giethe are the focus of their respective missions but lesser-tier on the Arc Villain scale than you’d expect.

There’s definitely an argument to be made where they probably had to make cuts; Albion has no unique Angels, whereas the Bestrals had Morard and Yunifi while human in form, probably would still be an archer with mostly-similar abilities and the Elves have the twins Rosalinde and Eltolinde… It may have always been intended but I’m not convinced; even if Scarlett and Nigelare technically the non-generic classes of the area it still seems… odd… Even so, the themes and arcs are pretty much overall well-constructed IMO.

Dark Marquis; the totally “Not Chaos Lord” class.

Along with the totally “Not Skaven” Elgor.

Dark Marquiss fits better since the whole point is that theyre serving a dark empire that learned literally nothing from killing a holy creature.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.

I gotta say, Alcina is kind of a legend for wearing heavy armor and a shield and still only having mediocre defenses.

Vanillaware sent out surveys asking people if they'd buy sequels to this. Gotta admit I was wrong. Didn't expect they'd entertain the idea. Glad I was wrong.

You guys having fun with the Yahna and Rosalinde Deatb Star builds yet?

For context, the term Death Star is a term from table top gaming for a place all your eggs in one basket army list involving massively buffing one unit that goes to town on your opponents entire army.

The Yahna death star involves the Millenium Scepter and Trinity Rain.

The Rosalinde Death Star involves Elemental Roar shenanigans and Rage of the Faries.

-Edit: The Amalia fight has a Weaksauce Weakness. Tank and heal based builds. The fight is designed around you using Alain.

It has a lot of weaknesses. She's alone so she's super vulnerable to shamans because they dont need to spread their debuffs around.

She's also vulnerable to damage ticks since she takes several actions

The charge builds do have exploitable weaknesses funnily enough. Like hastened charge is suspectible to quick dispel funnily enough :p

I've finally figured out how to use pursuit correctly, at the post Amelia colosseum with level 43 characters :p

(aka make them if else program with final one being "hit anyone". My previous attempt was leaving pp wasted if there didn't happen to be enough valid targets :'D )

Love the variant Elemental Roar Death Star build I have. Rage of the Faries -> Scarlet uses Ice Conferal on Elemental Roar -> that which doesnt die gets locked down. I’ve taken down entire squads of lvl 45 enemies while at lvl 32 with hardly any resistance.

Rosalinde is an easy nomination for Game-Breaker if built right. The r/unicornoverlord community rates her as S tier. Etolinde as S-.

Finished the Bastoria castle map where it tells you to avoid heavy guarded area and attack this one point.

Dimitri says to do this….and so I do. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=agQSdVExQUc&pp=ygUjZGltaXRyaSBraWxsIGV2ZXJ5IGxhc3Qgb25lIG9mIHRoZW0%3D

I find Rosalinde's only major drawback is that since her healing is reaction based it doesn't usually keep up with Arrow Support attrition and the like.

I had a few close calls in Bastorias. I'm intentionally not using my best unit combinations, but sometimes that leads to situations like just plain not being able to damage certain formations. Had to use the one day/night swapping item i had to survive a critical fight.

I think I found some easter eggs in this game.

There are variations in dialogue depending on your rapports.

1. When Rosalinde talks about the Covenant, if you are already at max rapport with her, the end of the scene will have her add “or the elf” to the bit about giving the ring to the person you trust most. Leaning on the Fourth Wall being aware of her status of Developers' Desired Date.

2. If you have already done the covenant and you do a final rapport conversation with someone as Alain (unlocked AFTER doing the covenant), a little blurb from Alain will say something about if this was a dream, then saying something about not betraying the covenant. This being the devs taking jabs at people who try to take harem routes in games like Persona.

Found this one after doing the final rapport with Scarlett. I had already done the covenant with Rosalinde before setting foot in Bastoria.

That doesn't happen with non romantic covenants, can confirm I haven't seen it with Ramona and I've now completed all of Alain rapports [lol] (also I'm still pretty sure Scarlett is the "default" option in terms of having massive amount of screen time compared to other characters with harem member dynamics, with both of elf sisters getting heavy elf fet- I mean shipping, and thus being close second. Eltolinde rapport is blatantly romantic with the confessiong being before third part and final part being Alain and Eltolinde just hugging)

Anyway, revelation: Morard, Yunifi and Ramona family dynamic is that they are both her children.

(Hilda gets single stage rapport with everyone who has younger sister ABOUT having younger sister, so Magellan and Morard)

Yeah as far as I can tell, Ramona is the only woman who doesn't marry Alain.

Hmm no, that also happens with Hilda(she doesn't marry Alain, just travels with her sister and occasionally visits Cornia) and Galadmir(she returns back to Elheim) at least. Tatiana became court physician but I don't know if that one counts as romantic or not because its Tatiana(I think you could confirm that just with whether it blocks romantic rapports)

Idk what is amount of platonic Alain x female character pairings(I haven't seen if all female angel ones are romantic as well, but I did hear Berenice was another platonic one?) especially since some of single rapport ones still have romantic ending, but I do find it annoying they have cousin romance, but owl mom is too far [lol]

BTW, I have now unlocked all remaining rapport conversations (I'm delaying doing final mission xD) so I shall now watch them all

The cousin that looks like his mom and acts like his sister.

I hope Alain suffers Never Live It Down regarding that incest ouroborous.

It's not a Fire Emblem homage unless you have incest and mind control.

Huh so Scarlet, Gilbert, Elf Sisters and probably either Yunifi or Morard has special battle lines on final final map (Morard/Yunifi squad got accidentally wiped out by mine in first final map :'D So I won't find out what they would have said)

See I told you Gilbert is Darkhold's harem member ;P
