It's what happens when a side character gets their own spinoff that doesn't suck.
It's been 3000 years…also they're a cat,a voiced by Antonio Banderas, that's way more appealing then Shrek voiced by Mike Myers
New theme music also a boxI wonder if there was some cross-pollination of ideas going on behind the scenes, given the production of this movie would've likely coincided with the production of The Bad Guys. I wouldn't be surprised if people within Dreamworks probably shared input with each other.
And I really hope Dreamworks sticks with this for a while. It's a really refreshing change of pace for them.
I thought it was cool to watch the Bad Guys get high fived during the DreamWorks logo.
I like to keep my audience riveted.Yeah, this is the first Dreamworks movie I saw using the new intro.
Dreamworks is definately on a roll that makes me curious what their next film will be and whether it can continue to be as successful
New theme music also a boxWell their next film is Trolls 3 so expect some downtime.

Well, Wolf Whistle is supposed to express attraction by the wolf, not attraction to the wolf. ;)
x4: The Last Wish is the debut of the new theater opener, so it makes sense. It was teased a month early to get people aware of it.
DreamWorks Animation's film strategy is one sequel and one "original" film per year. Evidently Puss in Boots 2 covered the former, while The Bad Guys covered the latter.
This year, the original film will be Meet The Gillmans, while Trolls 3 is the sequel film.

Darn it!
Anyway the movie has so much Freeze-Frame Bonus.
Speaking of Freeze-Frame Bonuses, remember what the Wolf/Death said when he was there to see Puss' deaths?
When the crowd was doing that wave, you can see the Wolf in the top left! Man, what a creep!

Wolf is also in the corners of the death-count cards.

Ooooooh, I did not see that.
Amazing how this movie did multiple villain tropes embodied on each of the hunter and done them masterfully while Disney films struggles with by a lot.
Disney does'nt have a similar franchise like Shrek that I know of so there's a lot less room for experimentation
New theme music also a boxIts impressive to note the Wolf was taken completely seriously
No jokes was thrown against him even when everyone else finds out about him, instead even Kitty was too shocked and scared to say anything insulting about him
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."The closest we get to a joke with him is his assurance to Puss that the "I am Death" thing is actually literal.

Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonThere was also that spanish rant at the end.
That and his little rant at the end which translates to Why the hell do you play with your food?! I don't speak spanish, so I just knew he was a bit annoyed, but I imagine in context it is a little funny.

You can only write so much in your forum signature. It's not fair that I want to write a piece of writing yet it will cut me off in the mid"Why the hell do I play with my food?!" To clear any confusion, Death was chastising his own knack for extending the chase for his own amusement.
And yeah, the Bilingual Bonus was super fun in this movie. Southpaws ranting about turning Puss and Perrito into bathmats for screwing things up was funny.
Amusingly, I think we were talking about the film's vuglur language before its premiere. It already blew away what DC Super Pets did months ago.

I thought she was directing it to the bears.
She was.
Another bit of Wolf humor was him playing up the loony fan angle when he first meets Puss, complimenting his clothes and doing the "I don't usually do this" thing with the wanted poster.
Finally got around to watching it. Did not expect it to live up to expectations but it really did, it successfully manages to do everything it sets out to do.
I watched it dubbed, Goldilocks and the three bears are voiced by Argentine voice actors, which I always find distracting. May just be internalized contempt, though.
I'd like to apologize for all this.I'll admit I enjoyed the subplot with Goldilocks and the bears and how they were a genuinely endearing set of characters with some surprising depth...I was kind of mixed when it came to Florence Pugh's voice acting. She felt a little too flat and wooden.
Funny that you mention that, because watching this movie made me ponder about that. Is it my imagination or is Puss in Boots a lot cooler when he goes on his own adventures than when he hangs out with Shrek? (This means you, Shrek Forever After)
I like to keep my audience riveted.
