I ended up making a Yosenju deck for the event. The Yosenju side is pretty cheap, since the rarer cards aren't really needed. Though I'm not really sure how to deal with having so many continuous spells (Tenkis, mainly) and no real way to clear them out for actual backrow.
I made a trains/infinitrack deck with a couple of machinas.
I have no interest in playing a self-burn deck, but I do need to spam trap cards in order to get those gems. So that's basically the same thing.

Looks like they changed the Xyz Festival rules. Loss medals are unchanged, but you now received five times as many for winning (500 as opposed to 100, versus a 50 for losing).
Still seems like trying to win, hoping you don't run into a top tier meta deck that mills through half the deck so they can summon Quantum F**k Dragon which has five negates and reduces your sperm count to 0 on the first turn, is a waste of time when you can literally gain the same amount of coins in half that time intentionally losing 10 duels.

thats highly unlikely to happen as the event just happens to be xyz only, meaning a lot of negates are likewise gone. Most common one ive seen is utopic future dragon but thats about it.

Really having a lot more fun with the Xyz festival then ranked. I just barely managed to hit Platinum with a Macro Cosmos banish deck and don't really feel like ever wanting to touch ranked again outside of daily missions.

I’ve been running the Melffy half of my Mellfy/Tri-Brigade deck with some baby raccoons and Zeus thrown in, and it works pretty well.
Edit: Technically I could be running my usual Endymion deck for this event, since it doesn’t need the extra deck, but I kinda wanted to roll with it.
Guess I need to think about future themed events, too.

Exodia is really dumb in this game because there's a bunch of draw power not available in the TCG due to the banlist differences. For example, triple Chicken Game and triple Upstart.

So is it just me, or does the mobile version just... not work? I don't mean performance-wise, I mean cards just don't work consistently between activations. I've had Forbidden Droplets just not allow me to send certain cards for no reason, card effects just not activate when there's nothing to negate them... all the issues I run into only happen on mobile, PS 4 and PC don't do this.
Maybe sometime, I'm terrible at deck building though.
And plat at long last with Utopia OTK.Proably better just stick with the XYZ event and solo's until next season.
Festival is over. I finished with 5200 Medals and 4 copies of Adreus, Keeper of Armageddon that I can't break down. What did you guys get?

I don't remember any rewards that were especially exciting, but the last duel I played had me win incredibly clutch. It also helped that my opponent misplayed a few times even if they didn't realize it. Rank-Up Magic and Ultimate Leo Ray FTW.
Also, slight tangent, but are there any situations where Dragonic Ray is better? I struggle to think of many.

x3 Getting cards you can't break down in general is just insulting. Especially since the Legacy Pack is full of unusable garbage.

Yeah, Konami could have at least allowed us to break down the cards from the XYZ Legacy Pack this festival.
At the absolute bare minimum, you should be able to dismantle them once you have more than 3.
Honestly the Self-OTK meta this event caused has been a goldmine of community memes, so I'm not complaining. There are even decks out there made sole to heal opponents now.
