Skimming through the trope pages for Game of Thrones that does seem to be the case, except the pies in question were made with and for specific people in mind.

Reminds me of the Paz spirit fight in SSBU except that was probably a reference to her using bombs instead of the uterus bomb in Ground Zeroes

This one...yeah it's a pretty fucked up reference. Next you gonna tell me Iron Giant will tank nukes as an ability.

Correct me if this line was in the game already, but Marvin seems to have a new line where he says: "That teenage Earthling's magic is quite fierce!". I know there's a ton of "teenage Earthlings" with magic he could be referring to, but given this is WB, I feel like there's a chance Marvin might be speaking to the most famous teenage Earthling with magic of all here. (Unless he's just conflating Steven's gem powers with magic or something. Or Raven (which is also very likely now that I think about it).)

He also has lines that could be to alluding to Legolas ("Ears can't help you now, earth human - no matter how pointy!")

Yeah, pretty sure that first one's for Raven, and that second one is definitely for Legolas.

I like Leogalas but I'm a smidge disappointed that he's prioritized over Aragorn.

It bothers me that wasn't the plan to begin with but I suppose the nature of the game can allow this. I really hope the open beta will have local multiplayer. I really hate the idea that the game would rely only on the online aspect.

Well, I wouldn't know. I thought it was more of a problem when Legolas was in The Hobbit than anything else. Still, it's not a bad character to choose from.

The guy that originally leaked this game came back to reddit and threw his two cents

Basically confirms all the datamines as well as the one that he originally touted in his original post (although Mad Max is "on hold". So is Harry Potter). And confirms a few for the future: Samurai Jack, Powerpuff Girls, Animaniacs, Daffy, Scorpion, Ben 10 and Ted Lasso

Weirdly enough, no mention of Gandalf whatsoever. Hmmmm....

Oh damn that's crazy.

I'm sure Gandalf hasn't been cut, he's still in the alpha's data, and the alpha even added a 3rd LOTR stage. Still though, glad that Bravo and Fred are still coming. What surprises me the most is Ted Lasso. I know the show is popular, but I didn't think he'd be the next tv show rep added to the game.

I'll give them this, the "confirmed" characters feel like every single wishlist i've seen until the Ted Lasso guy was mentioned and being the OG leaker gives them some credence

Wasn't he the one that said Lebron was DLC?

Since an incomplete stage based on the WB water tower is already in the game, the Warners aren't too surprising, and IIRC the devs already confirmed that Ben would be coming eventually. But what is a big surprise is friggin' Ted Lasso. That's one of the most out of left field picks this side of Eleven. 🤣

Also glad we're still getting Johnny and Fred.

Not by name, but he did hint at him. I don't know who this guy is, but judging by the way he talks, he could be an insider who works at WB. Probably not for Player First Games, but maybe someone who works adjacent to them.

Ted Lasso's a pretty good idea for a support character for sure. He's a coach, so he's hyping up his teammate.

Localization departments and those that deal with stuff outside game dev (like game rating) tend to be the ones that slip through the cracks. Remember the biggest smash leak in history was thanks to someone from the ESRB or some shit like that.

Interesting that Powerpuff Girls and the Warners are mentioned as a single fighter. I wonder how they would differ? My idea for the former was just having a switch one PPG at a time and make the other skins

So nobody here thinks it’s fake? Because it sounds to me this leaker is just taking all the previous leaks, throwing in all the fan requests to get popularity, and then throwing in something nobody wanted or thought of in order to look legit.

I know this guy got one leak right, but now it feels like he’s just telling us what we want to hear so we believe all the stupid stuff he serves up. A guy on 4chan isn’t going to use legit info without trying to get some entertainment out of it, so why wouldn’t he use it to make us treat something really dumb as the gospel?

TLDR: a guy who told the truth one time might not be telling the truth all the time.

Those are all characters I think were pretty much guaranteed at some point... except Ted Lasso. Another third-party, albeit an odd one. From what I know about the show, he doesn't live in a sci-fi/fantasy/cartoon universe or have any powers. Sounds like he might be the Phoenix Wright of this game.

Edit:Oh, wait, I just checked and it actually is a Warner show. I just kinda assumed Apple made/owned it.

The reddit leaker addressed the absence of Gandalf in his post, and stated that he's actually been done for a while. Makes sense, lines up with the leaked screenshots.

I've seen some people theorize that the reason Gandalf still hasn't been officially announced despite basically being done is because A. they're still trying to get Ian McKellen back to voice him or B. Ian McKellen is already back and is just still recording his lines (especially given the only thing that doesn't appear to be in the game related to Gandalf are voicelines).

Knock on wood, but I feel like there's no way Gandalf has been cut from the game at this point given just how much data there is in the game for him...and for Lord of the Rings in general for that matter. The series even gained data for a new LOTR stage (the Barad-dur stage IIRC) in the alpha.

Actually, Barad-dur was also in the previous playtest. The new LOTR stage is Hobbiton.

Considering the username is "hugeleakeractually", that would raise some flags, but considering who the leaks are, it's not all that hard for me to believe it's real. The most suspicious one I find is Ben 10. He sounds even more complicated than the Powerpuff Girls & the Warner Siblings. If they can actually pull off having the PPG & the Warners then there's no real reason the Edds couldn't be in the game.

If there's another reason to doubt the guy, he just casually spoiled that Injustice 3 is in the work & Static will be playable in that game.

Oh man, that goes against what Ed Boon said about that. Somebody’s definitely using their info to fool people.

Boon is pretty notorious for being a Trolling Creator. Can't take everything he says at face value.
