Fuck is this the first Wolverine has ever stabbed a flesh and blood person in animation. I can't think of any other.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Yep. He never even attempted to stab Sabertooth.
Also tilting my head on a few posts I've seen elsewhere about how Mags was out of character.
There was that time he stabbed Hulk in the Hulk vs Wolverine animated film. Does that count?

I must have missed it, but why did Cyclops blast the Professor and give Magneto a chance to counter?
-Witty line-Because Charles would have undone the EMP while Gold Team was still struggling.
Ohhhhhhhhhh. Gotcha. Thanks.
Thought it was also an indirect Shout-Out to the comics In the 10s trying to make Cyclops just the worse who ruins everything.
-Witty line-Madelyne was right on the money about Xavier picking Magneto to succeed him.
...Bastion has won.
He's not only destroyed any hope of avoiding the war between Humans and Mutants, he's also broken the X-Men's belief in Charles' dream (even the ones still fighting against Magneto may not trust it as much any more) driven a wedge between their members, solidified Eric's path when he was truly trying to find another way, and now even Xavier himself is going to cross a line he'd have never crossed before.
One Strip! One Strip!x4 That's honestly kinda dumb, especially if you know how EMPs actually work.
Don't look at me, that's their plan.
- If there was any doubt this series was fixing Jean's Adaptational Wimp status from the original series, this episode should put them to rest.
- I get why Storm would be touchy about the idea of permanently depowering someone given her own experience, but surely she must see how dangerous it is to leave even the possibility of Bastion causing problems with his powers in the future.
- "Let me give you a hand". "What is the sound of one hand clapping?". Hank, I hope you don't plan on becoming a stand-up comedian anytime soon.
I think this is also the only adaptation where Logan has stabbed Magnet, which is rather impressive given the latter is often his Kryptonite Man.

Sunspot turning heel and joining Magneto is a pretty clever way of adapting their dynamic in the comics - the stern fatherly teacher and the Brilliant, but Lazy student - despite the changed circumstances.
I'm still genuinely shocked and overjoyed that they actually adapted Magneto ripping out Wolverine's adamantium. I was so worried they weren't gonna include it.
I kind of hoped it would be Spidey rescuing Roberto and Jubilee from the mob but I loved the glomps Storm got from Jubilee and Jean.
Nightcrawler can port multiple people across continents now?
I didn't like them adapting post 90s stuff and I don't like them going back the 80s costumes either. In fact I'm not keen on adapting the rip-out the skeleton bit that was from the 90s, guess I'm just unpleasable.
Storm and Jeans pre-battle banter is excellent. As is Morph as Hulk, Beast's banter. Morph's Good Does Not Understand Evil moment was also good.
hmm, they did pay lipservice at least to the deaths from EMP but the big threat is the continuing damage the magnetosphere interesting
is Magnetos new genosha just going to consist of him, Rogue and Roberto? No other Acolytes or mutants civvies... that's not sustainable considering he's making Earth unlivable.
Xavier's getting a lot of crap for his plan, but it was working until the anti-mutites went full genocide. Most of the team don't go for Mags and that's fine but it's another compression thing. This would have been more powerful if Mags had been a genuine x-man and reformist and gained their loyalty over a full season and this was season 2 thing.
Also a question for those who know both series: is the first time we've seen Cable use his TK rather than guns?

I do believe Demayo when he said in pre-termination interviews that Gambit and Rogue were the show's OTP, in that their relationship is driving the entire narrative forward...it doesn't mean "they have to be together always", but this whole thing is a love story and Gambit will soon be on the scene again to further Rogue's redemption and his recovery, that is, assuming people's theories that Apocalypse reviving him to be his horseman of 'Death' turns out to be true

So after declaring war and ripping out Wolverine's adamantium, I'm guessing Magneto won't be asked back to be in the opening credits.
-Witty line-x7 The problem is undoing the emp blast would have woken up the Prime-Sentinels again so the plan is to take out Bastion first so he can't activate them.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Well his debut in original series had him almost cause nuclear war, so it isn’t imposible, but him rejoinining X Men dosen’t seem to be where it is going so he will have to be content with appearing at the end.
How does undoing the EMP revive the prime-sentinals? Their circuitry should already be fried, an EMP isn't a field that hangs around.

Why the FUCK do they keep bringing Wolverine to Magneto missions? There’s tactical errors and then there’s shooting yourself in the foot

The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Presumably Bastion can try to turn them on again for whatever reason. Or he can start making more. Otherwise unless Bastion is defeated first they can't defeat Mags yet.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Or just comic book science.
Prediction for the next episode ala Fatal Attractions Xavier mindwipes Magneto at the start of the episode, leaving full power Bastian as the Big Bad

That is pretty much it.
Logan will survive but this will also be the time his claws will turn out to be part of his anatomy & not a byproduct of the adamantium bonding and his healing factor will supercharge starting at this event to the point where he can now be skeletonized by a nuke and be able to heal from that. The adamantium in his skeleton actually weakens his healing factor.
I also checked Fatal Attraction and even though Magneto EMP'd the whole planet there, there was no danger of the planet itself getting physically destroyed so it sounds like they also were able to sneak in a bit of Ultimatum in this finale. And he did it all w/o Mjolnir.
