Yes. Yes they did.
And here’s the same clip embedded.
What a complicated family situation. Scott Summers has a son who was mothered by a clone of his wife and said son is several years older than his parents because of time travel shenanigans.
I can't help but imagine how a normie would react if I explained that to them.
Hey at least there was no incest!

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Still waiting on Rachel and Hope to introduce themselves.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Well, X-Man Nate Grey had Madelyne Pryor and/or an evil Jean as his love interest for a while. So either an alternate universe version of his mom or a clone of his mom.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersThe fuck!?
I can't help but imagine how a normie would react if I explained that to them.
"That was a daughter."
"Oh. My bad."
Comics really are just especially messed up soap operas huh?
So who has the more convoluted family tree, the Summers/Greys or the Pyms?

@ Bocaj: ...Never mind then.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.Probably the Summers/Greys, seeing as they used to be the Trope Namer for Tangled Family Tree (as "Summers Family Tree"), and have ensured that the X-Men franchise got its very own subpage underneath the Marvel Universe subpage for the trope. And back when Magneto was still the father of Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, the Summers/Grey tree included the Pym tree as part of it by way of Wanda and Vision (see here for how Wanda used to link up to it, though the image doesn't include the Vision connection, probably because it was big and convoluted enough already).

What the current status of twins’s parentage in comics?
Edited by EmperorGeode on Apr 30th 2024 at 2:40:21 AM
Officially, after the editorial mandate that retconned out the idea that they were the children of Max and Magda Eisenhardt, they're the children of Natalya Maximoff (who also had magic powers, and the identity of "Scarlet Witch" before Wanda did) and an unknown man, but that the twins were raised by their maternal aunt and uncle (Marya and Django Maximoff, respectively) who claimed to be the twins' parents.
Despite this, some writers have it so that Magneto and Wanda still consider each other to be father and daughter, despite not being biologically related after all, and in the main continuity even before the Magneto-parentage was retconned out, they didn't know each other until they were adults, Magneto didn't know they were his kids until some time after they left his Brotherhood of Evil Mutants to join the "Cap's Kooky Quartet" incarnation of the Avengers, and he didn't treat them any better than he did any of the other members of the Brotherhood when they were still part of it.

In other words: yes.

Robin: Don't ever ask me to dock with you again. Serious...Superheroes and convoluted family trees, name a more iconic duo.
You can tell how disliked the Maximoff retcon is by the fact most writers still treat Magneto and the twins as basically father and children.
Which makes sense since the retcon was not born out of any storytelling decision, moreso executives cynically enforcing synergy to make the comics more like the movies.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I love how the discussion here is distracting from how utterly horrific it is that in the clip Bastion makes the Prime Sentinels suicide-bomb themselves. Remember, Prime Sentinels are normal people forcibly converted into cyborgs and as Jean mentioned with Trask last episode, their minds are still in there.
"Magneto and Scarlet Witch consider themselves father and daughter'' U Uhhhhh... Adoption?
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.I'd argue that the decision to make Magneto the father of Wanda and Pietro was equally arbitrary. And the way that the relationship was later characterized makes no damn sense with the reality that he only met them when they were adults, had zero positive interactions with them, and offered zero parenting.
The idea that Wanda considers Magneto her real father even more so than the man who actually raised her is such a weird characterization choice.
Edited by Bocaj on Apr 30th 2024 at 3:28:39 AM
Forever liveblogging the AvengersIt is also funny, since I remeber watching lore video which stated that they actually considered man who raised them their real father after they learned about Magneto (their uncle who ironicaly come to believe they are his biological children). I asked about their status to check if there has been any more event’s in that field since video was made, though it appears to not be the case.
I don’t say I agree with retcon, just that it’s funny how tables have turned.
It does bother me how little respect writers give Django and Marya Maximoff even though they were the ones that raised Wanda and Pietro.
Magneto is a popular character, while I bet that 99% of the fanbase and the writers don't give a single fuck about Django Maximoff. So Magneto gets to be their real dad, even if he didn't raise the twins and had few positive interaction with them. So a character being well-liked is more important than a lack of actual parenting. It's kind of similar to how some disgruntled Madelyne Pryor fans will insist that she's Cable's real and only mom and Jean is at best just a stepmother and at worst a baby stealing bitch.

I mean, Madelyne does get the absolute rawest deal out of this shit.
Like, this is my issue with cloning in comics and stuff. Priority is still given to the "original" character, in this case Jean. Even though Madelyne is literally just Jean but with more memories than the actual Jean.

Kaze ni Nare! And in this show Cable does consider Maddy to be his mother.
Wait did those possessed human/sentinels kamikaze?
