Sorry for ranting about ships again. But why the heck people claim Kana of not being tsundere when she regularly does things like this?

I get it that most readers prefer cute girls other smart ones, but damn, I will always be "team Akane" despite her clearly losing the race and being a bit of a psycho.

Who’s claiming Kana isn’t tsundere?

Last time I said I am a bit tired of tsundere heroines while talking about Kana, people on MAL started virgously claiming she is not a tsundere or at least a very atypical one.

Ah, MAL. Well that’s the first mistake hahaha. Take opinions over there with a grain of salt.

You know, on average they are still better thsan opinions from other large anime sites. And there is no doubt that majority of community ship Aqua with Kana and willl defend her anytime.

I mean compared to the likes of Twitter, probably yeah.

More compared to the likes of Ani DB, though, they do not discuss manga there.

Kana is absolutely a tsundere, though I'll also say I'm team Akane not so much for shippibg reasons but because she's the more interesting character by a mile. Akane and Aqua are either really good or really bad for each other, that's what makes it interesting. Kana, despite having her own laundry list of flaws and traumas, is a bit more tropey and moe-appeal-y than I really care for.

And from what I've read, a lot of tsundere characters do have some Dark and Troubled Past and/or other self-esteem issues that supposedly justify their behaviour, so the argument that having some traumatic backstory makes Kana an "atypical" tsundere really don't hold water. If anything, that makes her even more stereotypical.

Aka really wants us to believe the manga will end after the next arc or what? I won't buy it.

It never said there will only be ten arcs or how long they will last for, right? Could end relatively shortly, could go om for a while yet.

Anyway, chapter. Despite appearing to fix his relationship with Kana, it looks like Aqua is more gung-ho about his revenge than ever, as well as keeping his loved ones safe from it (going by his comments about and treatment of Akane and Ruby). I imagine the line about using Kana has to do with the upcoming movie and her acting career. Using the movie about Ai's life and death as bait? Likely it would put focus on the mysterious father and his role in egging the actual murderer on, so that he's forced to come out of hiding to stop it, lest Aqua destroy his life.

The movie is probably going to take a while (i.e. an entire arc) to make, so even if this sets things up for the end game, it's not like the manga will end in 5 chapter or so.

You sound like you're trying to make the authorial intent unreasonable.

The author has way more time as of late, as he went from writing two series and drawing one to just writing one. I'd think now's when he could get into something way more long-term and elaborate.

As far as I remember he is writing 2 stories now or at least will be in the nearest future as he announced another one and was choosing the artist for it.

I hoped there will be a twist regarding the culprit, but nope...

Nothing in the manga so far was as funny to me as when the character, who I could tell was going to die, spontaneously showed they could easily be murdered.

That depends on how accurate they're making the movie. Aqua said he'd play "the killer", but hardly anyone believes the stalker was working with anyone else.
