I'd be good with either...leaning toward the one on The Mole for humor reasons.
Use the one on The Mole.
back lolCurrent on The Mole is funnier, but we can reserve the one on Reverse Mole for a future comics subpage.
(Annoyed grunt)
In that case, the Reverse Mole one can be put on an image links page for now.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."
Actually, I think several folders, including Comic Books, are already long enough to split. I counted 53 bullets and sub-bulles, compared to 63 for TheMole.Western Animation, for example.
I'm back! You're right; I moved a few folders to subpages. I'd be fine with putting the pic from Reverse Mole on a subpage but I don't know the source. Aside from that, I'd say we've got enough consensus for the pic that's on The Mole so I'll tag it for this thread.
It's from The Adventures of Tintin, *probably* Tintin: Cigars of the Pharaoh (been a while since that thread)

Yup, it's Cigars of the Pharaoh, page 54.
, Thanks.
I find the image from Reverse Mole more telling. Clear over witty.
Good point; I concur.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!I don't think it's that clear since it doesn't actually show the spy. The trope is just announced and could be a page quote.

We learn from the image that we are talking about infiltrating spies. That's more than what a visual pun convoys. Of course, this is assuming not all non-English speakers are familiar with the mole = spy association.
I still think Reverse Mole’s pic should go on TheMole.Comic Books.
back lolI have to agree. I don't find the main image on The Mole to be unclear, either — if the meaning of the term "mole" is clear enough to be the trope name, I don't think the Visual Pun is a problem.

clearly things are going well.Crowner, mayhaps?
Hooked!
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportOkay, 1.1 is at super-consensus level for The Mole (which it was already marked as a keep on but good for the confirmation) and 1.2 for the Comic Books subpage is at such a wide margin that it would be called at 5 days, so I'm gonna go ahead and call this. It's in and tagged on the subpage; caption?

No caption discussion; locking up.
Crown Description:
Nominations for replacement images:
We had a thread last year that put this image◊ on The Mole and that image◊ on Reverse Mole (which was supposed to mean "the mole but for good guys" but in practice was used for all kinds of variants and subversions of the mole).
However, TRS has since merged the two tropes. The question then is, which of the two images to put on the merged page.
