Needs Help: Law Of Wiki Expansion

this suggestion◊ failed to reach consensus in the crowner. any ideas?

I think this one could've worked with a good caption.

the caption suggestion for this one was: "Yes, a Transformers wiki has an article on Mt. Olympus."

i can probably find an image from XKCD or something.

...wait. i just noticed someone already added a new image on the page without any prior discussion. (image added on Jan 8)

do we keep it, or...?

I actually really like that one. It's snappy, and it's really not something you'd expect to see on that source material. The suggestion is kind of obtuse to me. It's too buried under actual Transformers stuff.

I'm willing to say keep that, and no caption. I think not having a caption and just letting that speak for itself is funnier.

7.1 is ok, but i like the original better because it has less empty space. 7.2 is eh, i prefer not having the photo at all.

I prefer the one without the photo.

7.1 gets the point across just fine, seeing the actual picture doesn't really add anything.

EDIT: Wait, is 7.1 the same as the current just with all the wiki elements (like the search bar and file tab) removed? I don't really see the point in that...

I see the value of the picture (it doesn't have much to do with Super Mario) but it makes the image look more cluttered on the whole. Keeping it to just the name of the wiki and the filename is enough.

I like that the logo is bigger.

7.1 is the same as the current but with a bigger logo.

7.2 with a caption explaining why it's on the wiki (it was a Dummied Out test image in Mario Kart Arcade GP, most likely taken from a news article).

i still like the current the best, honestly. 7.1 is almost similar to current but i don't like the empty spaces. 7.2 adds unnecessary context.

I think some context is better than nothing at all. Casting my vote for 7.2

Current or 7.1 are fine, but I prefer the current. I also don't like 7.2.

I prefer 7.2, but I'd be fine with either of the other Super Mario Wiki images. Either way, I agree with Murloc about the Transformers one being too obtuse.

anza_sb: What do you mean, "unnecessary context"? More context in an image is always a plus, as long as it doesn't make an image overly long.

I think the extra context makes it less funny. Sometimes less is more. The contrast between the logo and file name is enough.

Crowner's hooked. I also went ahead and pulled the current because 7.1 is a quality upgrade to it.

Some people might like the current over 7.1, because it has less white area, and it's not a definite quality improvement. I think either one works, just saying.
