It looks like Title Confusion is also misused to refer to confusion as to what what the title is.

Is there any reason Title Confusion isn't a YMMV item.
Because it reads like an audience reaction - audiences are confused about the meaning of a work's title, or even what the work's title is.
It's a sub-trope of Common Knowledge, which is a YMMV item.
And several of Title Confusion's sub-tropes (I Am Not Shazam, Iconic Character, Forgotten Title, Protagonist Title Fallacy) are YMMV items.
