I am curious but I doubt it will be super faithful. Many of the plots just don't translate well and it would give show a very inconsistent tone.
I agree that they would probably change a few things around with the show, which I'm okay with as long as the stories and characters are written well.
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!So now that Roger Craig Smith is no longer voicing Sonic, who would take over as Sonic's new voice? I'm wondering who will voice Sonic in the new Netflix series. Will Man of Action have one of their voice actors take over Sonic's voice and he will be the new voice for Sonic?
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!In case you doubted it, it's real, and it has a name now: Sonic Prime.
Sonic will have to save "a strange new multiverse" as he goes on "a journey of self-discovery and redemption", if WildBrain's press release is any indication.

This...wasn't what I expected.
"A strange new multiverse" has me scratching my head because Sonic technically does have a multiverse (the DiC cartoons, the Archie comics, the Sonic X anime, Sonic Boom, the IDW comics, and the 2020 movie), but isn't it no man's land due to how most of those universes are barred off because of legal kerfuffles? Or are we talking something made from scratch?
Or maybe it's more like a "it's a wonderful life" deal?
I mean, the new multiverse implies we haven't seen these places before.
I feel it'll be like the Zonic issues of Archie where we meet random strange AU versions of Sonic.
Sonic going on a redemption quest is a weird as hell sounding hook.
I'm guessing it'll be like a Sonic version of Into the Spider-Verse.
I hope it's more a case of "Into the Segaverse", exploring other retro or concurrent SEGA licenced titles. Sonic enters the Streets of Rage or wields the golden axe.

Perhaps he'll meet his proto rabbit self or his proto band self along with Vector the crocodile
So it's another Sonic isekai. Neat.
Giving it a chance a little, the description would imply we're going to see Sonic interact with other versions of himself and his friends.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. My best guess is they'll aim for Lawyer-Friendly Cameo approaches of previous cross-media Sonic iterations that would be too much of a hassle to include fully faithfully.
Hmm...
You know, thinking about the last few Sonic things - Mania, the film, this - I wonder if Sega is trying to push "Sonic travels through dimensions/universes" as a part of the franchise overall. It's not a perfect theory, since Forces didn't do it, but I'm starting to wonder...

Multiverses are a hot thing in entertainment now. Spiderverse, the TV DCU, and now the MCU itself.
SEGA has always been a bandwagon jumper, their problem is usually they do it too late when the novelty has worn off.

And that they jump on poorly, considering how they usually rush things out or don't put in enough effort.
One Strip! One Strip!That too.
This sounds like an interesting concept! I'm curious about what redemption arc Sonic is going through or maybe someone else will go through. As for the multiverse aspect, I'm interested in seeing where they go with that.
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!Duncan Rouleau, one of the collaborators of Man of Action, claims that Sonic Prime's tone will be "Generator Rex and maybe even a little more" when asked about it on Twitter.
His initial post also notices that "Man of Action has been cooking this up for years. It’ll be sometime until it’s released."
(!!!)
Curiouser and curiouser...
EDIT: One of the writers for the show is Justin Peniston. He writes his webcomic called Hunter Black.

Honestly sounds kinda great. Been a bit since we had a more action and mature take on the franchise. Barring sonic forces but we don't talk about that....
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Name that makes school a nightmare aside, is the comic good?
Wake me up at your own risk.Thank God this is Netflix, a traditional TV channel like CN or Nick nowadays would intentionally sabotage a 'more mature' action series from the get-go.
I agree. At the end of the day, Tyson is just one guy and there are many other Sonic fans out there who could contribute to the show, if they are allowed to. My biggest concern with the show is who's going to write the series and what the show is going to be about? If they hire writers who don't know how to write good characters and good plots, then the show is going to fail regardless. And just how close will it stick to the Sonic mythos? Will it be a faithful adaptation of the game series or will it be something completely different? I think those factors will ultimately impact the show's success.
