As the title implies, this thread is for world-building of hard sci-fi futures. I noticed that there's a thread for Sci-fi Weapons, Vehicles and Equipment, but not one for general concepts like post-Singularity civilizations, or speculation about technology can't be categorized as weaponry, vehicles, or equipment — genetic engineering for example.
As should be the case for all threads, be respectful of others' ideas and offer constructive criticism when necessary.
