While the outbreak started around New Year's Day (12/31), it's picking up steam around the Asia-Pacific region especially since Mainland Chinese people tend to travel a lot.
For reference, the BNO Newsroom twitter has a special feed for any info on the coronavirus:

The WHO has page about COVID-19 and any other concerns people may have. I suggest peeps go to the Q&A page to check for official details.

Well, shoot. Hope Nicky won't start peddling herbal remedies for this one.
An artist drew a cartoon celebrating the end of the lockdown in Wuhan. The city is represented by its signature dish, the hot dry noodle (reganmian).
Echoing hymn of my fellow passerine | Art blog (under construction)For reference, how long did the lockdown last?
Started on 23rd of January, right there on the first page of this thread. It's going to be partially lifted on the 8th of April, so it won't quite be the end, but Chinese media sure is talking like it is. The rest of the Hubei province is already starting to relax travel restrictions.

Echoing hymn of my fellow passerine | Art blog (under construction)now I’m curious. What does it taste like?
That link does not seem to work. Or at least, I don't see a cartoon.
Edit: oh, it took me somewhere else entirely the first time through. I think this is one of those spam sites that sometimes redirects you.

Optimism is a duty.I find it morbidly funny that, “USA! USA! USA!” Is currently trending on twitter right now. (Granted, it’s sarcastic)
“We’re doing great! Everything is good. We are number one in the world in Coronavirussing!” USA USA USA [2]
school shootings are down, flu deaths are down, healthcare bankruptcies are down, and traffic is better cause everyone died of coronavirus. USA! USA! USA! [3]
So I hear the US is number 3 for coronavirus cases globally? This is UNACCEPTABLE! US should be #1 🥇😎🇺🇲🦅🎇. USA USA USA

HERE'S A LITTLE LESSON IN DISTANCING, THIS IS GOING DOWN IN HISTORY
We don't care what it is, as long as we are number one! America fiiiiirst!
Optimism is a duty.Well some separatist/communist forces are willing to get to a ceasefire thanks to the virus.
Although in Kosovo, the entire government collapsed.
And there’s a shooting in the US while the FBI tried to investigate a man who’s planning to attack a hospital.
This also made me chuckle.
@realDonaldTrump "Tremendous" numbers! You did it! You made America great again! We are in the lead! #1 #Coronavirus Oubreak cases! WE'RE NUMBER ONE. 👏 [2]
Are we great again yet.

So you know all those testing kits China sent out?
Lo and behold, seems they either don't work or have an incredibly poor sensitivity and basically don't work.
Avatar SourceWhy am I not really that surprised?

I'd be more surprised if they had actually worked.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.I hate on the CCP for free, as a public service, but we probably gotta draw a distinction between the "donated" test kits and the "imported" ones here. European regulators have been cutting the red tape to get test kits and medical supplies ASAP, so a lot of products that haven't even been approved by Chinese regulators are making their way there through private channels.

Echoing hymn of my fellow passerine | Art blog (under construction)There were some reports of that in the local province in the Philippines that a mayor who got those PRC kits ordered South Korean versions instead.
Welp, pretty much as expected, Mexico jumped more than 100 cases in just one day, the total being 585 vs yesterday's 475. 8 dead so far, including the first one in my city like I commented earlier.
So just for the sake of a mental check in, how’s everyone doing right now?

A petition has started to get the current WHO chairman to leave his post.
My ghost learned how to type.

Disgusted, but not surprisedSr. admin official says bipartisan Senate grp working to ensure they can access one of the facilities—or else will seek a legislative fix in the next package.
That’s kinda hilarious.
Prediction 1: As the infection and death rate in the US rises there will be an attempt by the Trump administration to hide the numbers.
Prediction 2: Alternatively, even if the numbers are coming from his own government he will call, and by "call" I mean "scream hysterically" that it's "FAKE NEWS!" And his followers will believe it
Prediction 3: Now that I think of it the first two predictions are not mutually exclusive.
Trump delenda estTrump can't fake the numbers. The states and media are already publishing them faster than the CDC can.
Not gonna happen, "he said nice things about China" is not against any sort of WHO rules.
Not mention that it's factually spurious.

First death confirmed in Venezuela. Now, riiiiight now that the least of Maduro's concerns, but for the rest of Venezuelans this still signals a top concern.
Honduras reported their first death as well.
