While the outbreak started around New Year's Day (12/31), it's picking up steam around the Asia-Pacific region especially since Mainland Chinese people tend to travel a lot.
For reference, the BNO Newsroom twitter has a special feed for any info on the coronavirus:

New York Times: Deadly Fungus Spread Rapidly During the Pandemic, US CDC Says. Candida auris, a notoriously drug-resistant fungus that could cling on many surfaces and infect humans as yeast, has benefited from a decrease in screening and has now spread to more than half of the US states. The fungal infection triggers a high fever and mainly affects vulnerable older people with multiple comorbidities; according to the CDC, nearly half of the patients who contract it die within 90 days.

REALLY glad I'm abroad and not in the states RN.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Speaking of the States, I meant to post this earlier, but I got busy with work. It turns out my mom has caught COVID recently and it hit her like a runaway train. x_x
So far, it seems like I'm the only one in my family who did not catch it (although we're still up in the air about what my father caught that one time).
I like to keep my audience riveted.Man the fungal one is really bad. Our anti fungals aren’t nearly well developed enough to deal with a pandemic of it.
No no, it's not a pandemic of fungal spread. It's fungal spread that occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Disgusted, but not surprisedI wouldn't be too sure about that fungus not turning into a pandemic. It has started spreading in the Netherlands and Europe as well now.
Optimism is a duty. And so it begins once again.
Optimism is a duty.Yeah, that's pretty fucked up all right...
Optimism is a duty.
I don't blame you for feeling that way. COVID was scary because none of us knew at the time what could be done and hearing how many lives were lost to it is enough to make some people think some pretty dark thoughts. It shook everything up and we're still feeling the aftershocks to this day, but things look better now than it did back then.

Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.Wanting to execute people for not wearing masks is exactly the sort of thing that turns many people against masking advocates in the first place. No wonder anti-maskers are so vehement and paranoid when they hear crap like that being spouted at them.
This is very much Don't Shoot the Message territory.

Optimism is a duty.Anti-maskers has actually killed people just to not wear a mask, there is no justification for their paranoia, and it's not even that most of the time, they're just selfish.
If maskers want to kill them for not wearing a mask, I'd say they have plenty of justification for being upset.
Optimism is a duty.Yep. In Germany for example a cashier once told a guy he needed to wear a mask to get service.
The guy left and then a few hours later returned and shot the cashier.

Disgusted, but not surprisedThat rather misses the point. Don't Shoot the Message by making death threats to people who don't do the right thing. It doesn't make you more right, it just makes you an asshole.
Optimism is a duty.It still boggles the mind that people make such a fuss over masks.
I just wear them because I don't want to harm anyone by spreading a virus.
One wrong move and it might cost people dearly. So better safe than sorry I say.

I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Sure, people shouldn't make such a fuss. But don't make death threats against them. It's not going to convince them, it's just going to make them not want to agree with you.
Optimism is a duty.Yeah don't worry, I'm not the type of jerkass to make death threats.
I just ding dong ditch their houses.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Yeah, I'll agree that the people taking the global pandemic seriously have more to fear from the people not taking it seriously than the other way around.
Generally it is the anti maskers and anti vaxxers who are not only more prone to making death threats but also even following through on said threats.
That is on top of the general threat to public health and safety resulting from their behavior.

Disgusted, but not surprisedYeah at least with maskers, people are trying to be considerate about others.
While anti-maskers are immaturely refusing to wear a simple mask and risk getting people killed.
The latter tend to be people who give death threats.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. The number of people supporting masks making death threats are miniscule, while the anti-maskers are sending death threats to Fauci, who at most advised for mask mandates. I can bet good money not a single anti-maskers are in their current position because of death threats.
Probably not, but I'd still rather not have to deal with the "wear a mask or else" crowd all the same.
Optimism is a duty.
I think the main concern there was that it was feared the transmission method had changed, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
Optimism is a duty.
