I thought the counterargument to "what about everyone else" argument was that...they already got paid? Most of the profits post release go to studios and above-the-line talent, not the gaffers and vfx artists.
If so, then all the better!
And yeah, the reboot is happening anyway but, you know… Let the past die, kill it if you have to and all that.
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.@Tuckerscreator It's uh a tricky thing, but specifically a lot of comic fans do not have kind words about the movie.
Like Harley disgracing the Bo P that is not my personal opinion on the film, but it's something I've seen actual Birds of Prey comic fans say.
It's like say there is a ven diagram of Harley Quinn fans on one side and on the other side is fans of various female characters. The Bo P film is well received by the Harley fans but the fans of other characters hate it because they view it as a Harley shill vehicle.
It's something I've noticed but comics fans really do dislike the movie because of its treatment of non-Harley characters and its focus on Harley.
Someone mentioned Batman in the animated films and that's a perfect example. The Justice League Dark film has Batman in the movie despite Batman not even being a member in the comic. Harley's membership in the Bo P is an equivalent to Batman being in the JLD.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Black Canary was alright, Huntress was underdeveloped, but Cass was just wtf...
Mileena MadnessAnd we're about to get a fourth Harley Quinn movie that still doesn't introduce Poison Ivy.
We are? When was that announced?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Joker sequel with Lady Gaga
Oh right, forgot about that.
I was only thinking of Margort Robbie Quinn.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."They’re not afraid of having a gay relationship in a DC movie, are they?
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.Prolly because it's the Joker sequel, so it's instead doing an adaptation of the famous romance between Harles and Mistah J.
It is funny how Harley has actually gotten more film representation than most characters and in short order too.
Like Suicide Squad 1, Bo P, and Suicide Squad 2 were released within 5 years.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."She has been very popular recently. I presume Suicide Squad 1 was a big part of that, so I guess they just reacted quickly
I'm pretty sure she's been popular since her introduction in BTAS.
She always was but it was the 2010s when Harley-mania really started.
She got a new ongoing by Amanda Connor and Jimmy Palmioti that at one point was a success. It ran for over 50 issues, got numerous spin-offs, and this is combined with other Harley minis, guest-star appearances, and major roles in other books like Suicide Squad.
At that point she was prolly DC's highest selling ongoing next only to Batman.
Of course the hype eventually ran out and the Harley-hype as since cooled for a while now. She has an ongoing but nowhere near the marketing and multiple series she previously had.
And said omnipresence has since lead to backlash to the character in some aspects. Obviously there are plenty of people who are just plain sick of her, especially fans of other characters like Wonder Woman fans who are pretty incensed at her for stealing the spot as DC's #1 female character. She's pretty much the female equivalent to Batman in terms of Wolverine Publicity.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."What’s weird is that her Margot Robbie incarnation got popular by starring in an otherwise pretty reviled movie.
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo. Some people pointed out that CGI frankensteining Christopher Reeve in the Flash is especially pointless as there is already a guy who is still alive playing that iteration of Superman. Brandon Youth's Superman is already established to have been the same character as Supes in the Donner films.
The First manyeah but People are actually nostalgic about Christopher Reeves. Much fewer people care about Brandon Routh even if it technically is the same continuity.
Well, the recent Superman 78 comic Ignored Superman Returns and did it's own thing with Reeve, so maybe it's that universe?

Tbh I'm just surprised they didn't Just use archive footage rather than I dunno create an entirely new cgi models. I think people would have found that way less in bad taste for like a slide show
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."This movie also considers Keaton and Clooney's Batmen to be different people despite the fact that they're supposed to be the same guy, so they don't care that much about continuity. If you want that, go to the CW.
Excuse me, they did what with Christopher Reeve?! That's grotesque.
Him and Adam west appear as cgi models in the ending science. For some strange reason rather than using archive footage from their films or Braden Routh....

"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."This is pretty much the reason that the SAG is on strike by the way.
God can only hope Gunn's films have some standards.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."It's strange since I think it was intended as a nostalgia thing but people all over the web seem creeped out and disgusted by it. Which is the opposite of the intent....
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."
Also an excellent point!
I’m not interested in seeing it myself anyway. Especially since it seems like there’ll be little of the Flash’s own extensive method involved, instead being just Superman and Batman sloppy seconds for a plot.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."
