Yeah, that's a fair point.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. The Director's statement is only a small part of my argument. As I've said repeatedly my main argument is that being a success makes it more likely they'll be kept, and going to see the film proves they're not a dealbreaker and makes it more likely they'll be kept.
It's very unclear who's getting replaced and who's not. Gunn isn't recasting any of his own stuff afaik and if Flashpoint is the in-universe cause of the reboot as usual keeping Miller around makes sense as they'll be appearing in the new universe at the end the film.
eta: pronoun correction. No offense to Miller intended on that score.

Maybe, but that's not really how film studios think.
Their first reaction to big problems is always "act like everything is fine and pretend the problem doesn't exist," with the assumption that acknowledging the problem gives it power. They're passive by nature, and people involved in projects like this will never express negative opinions on problems of this nature until like a year after the movie comes out just to be safe.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. If Sasha Calle ain't returning as Supergirl then chances are Miller won't be back as Flash
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Guys, I just had a brain blast: replace Ezra Miller with Elliot Page.
They could even play the same iteration of Flash.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?I've seen that suggested before, and I'm not against the idea; the two of them actually do look pretty similar.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonI get not wanting to tank viewership by saying your star is out after this, but their staunch anti-recast position goes beyond that and does ring a little weird to me. Even if they don't consider Miller box office poison (which I can unfortunately believe) one would think swapping him in out for some other sharp-featured white person who, if not necessarily in the public's good graces, at least not an outright criminal would help the film a little. Like, the only other Big Name Thing Miller's done in recent years is Fantastic Beasts and we all know WB isn't standing by that franchise.

They seemed to have been pushing Miller to be a big deal, with them being The Flash and the push in the ill-fated FB series, but with all that happened... and don't wanna admit their mistake.
Wake me up at your own risk.I've also seen the hypothesis that Miller may have either friends or blackmail-ees in high places at WB.

The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."Do they have sources to back it up, tho?
You can't kill art.My only encounter with Miller outside of their two big franchises was the 2020 version of The Stand, which largely consisted of Ezra running around in their underwear and babbling incoherently.

The Doctor is in.And I think there was that school shooter movie, but dunno if that was particularly noteworthy. And something I'd avoid watching anyway.
Wake me up at your own risk.We need to talk about Kevin is the movie your are thinking of. It's okay in my opinion but mostly for Tilda Swinton and not Ezra. Other then that and the franchises only thing I have seen Ezra in was Perks of being a Wallflower which I don't really remember being on being the film with Percy Jackson meeting Hermione.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadSo Miller essentially had a pretty lowkey portfolio until they were instantly shot up to stardom with key roles in 2 mega WB franchises
That is pretty weird to think about
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Poor quality first look at Carapax in Blue Beetle
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Lots of comments about it looking like an action figure on that shot. Hopefully it is better in motion.

Wake me up at your own risk.Reminds me of Maximillian from The Black Hole
I see a failure.
Half joking.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Anyway to kind of commerate it. Here's the very, very, very troubled history of the film.
A wild ride. Like it goes from their was a motor cycle crash to ezra Miller chokes a woman at a bar....
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Is this source trustworthy?
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Oh it's a Twitter thread. But it uses screen shots of articles as citations to ensure their not making stuff up.
Damn....I kinda want the film about this films production now.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."The Stinger got spoiled to me. Can't help but laugh, not because it's funny (it's not), but because it looks like a creatively bankrupt studio's self-insert.
For a subject that ISN'T related to Ezra Miller's awfulness, what do you think the odds are of ever getting closure on Mr. Mind? Has anyone said anything?
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."
TBH I think the stuff about them not openly condemning Miller and making it clear they will not return as the Flash hurts PR? Aside from making you look really bad, I feel like it would also encourage people to avoid seeing it. As it creates the dilemma of 'if I go see this movie, am I potentially supporting Ezra staying in the role?'. The fact that Ezra could return if this is a huge sucess could give plenty of people reason to not see it. So making it clear that Miller will not come back no matter what feels like it would help more then anything.
