The YouTube mirror, for those that can't access the EW site player:
Some takeways:
- Reading the interview, it's amusing to see Patrick Stump cite Spider-Man: The Animated Series' theme song as one of Spidey themes he had in mind, during the creation process.
- Miles having an art theme is definitely something from Spider-Verse, and not a bad trait to borrow either.
- Around 0:27, I'm pretty sure we spot Aunt May, Miles' parents, and some blonde woman connected to Ghost Spider.
- Oh, another female Doctor Ock? I wonder if this is another adaptation of Carolyn Trainer (like in Marvel's Spider-Man) or a new version all together? It seems like her, Green Goblin, and Rhino are the recurring rogues in this series. Very classic looking designs for all three, given their radical redesigns over the years.
- Likewise, Kamala Khan, Hulk and Black Panther as allies for the Spiders. Panther's the only one who seems to have a MCU-inspired look.

I think the blonde woman is Carol Danvers, which isn't a connection to the Spiders, but Kamala, who is in the show.
Gwen walks down her father later in the intro, but I'm not sure who is the girl that Miles is crushing on.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).As a side note, the lengthy intro, combined with episode descriptions and early comic previews, gave me enough material to start an Upcoming Works page: Spidey and His Amazing Friends.

So we have more information on the show. We have a digital soundtrack on September 17. We also have the announcement for some other people working on the series. This includes Steven Grover (who worked on Hello Ninja and some Lego Jurassic World projects) as a producer, with Chris Moreno (co-producer and art director on Muppet Babies 2018) as supervising director, and Chris Gilligan (supervising director on Goldie And Bear and TOTS) as a consulting director.
I checked out the Cartoon Crave post for the series' opening. Overall pretty positive, and people are already meming the Audience Reaction of "Where's Uncle Ben?"
So we have a voice actor confirmation, Nicolas Roye. He's voicing the spider computer named Web-ster.

Justin Shenkarow announced that he's doing voice work for the series.
https://mobile.twitter.com/justinshenkarow/status/1404943340685066247
Series premiere is August 6th, 9:00 AM EDT/PDT with a simulacast on Disney and Disney Junior
That's an interesting voice cast. August 6 is less than 2 months away.
This clip came out.
...Why do they all sound four?
I mean, I know that's the target audience, obviously, but aren't the characters themselves just supposed to be stylized teenagers? Or do we actually have a preschool-aged Spider-Man here?
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonWell, Jakari Fraser (Miles) is currently 10 years old. Lily Sanfelippo (Gwen) is currently 14 years old. I don't know the age of Benjamin Valic (Peter), but he did Baby Sonic convincingly and looks to be pretty young based on online photos, so it's easy to assume he's in the same age range. With this, we can assume the characters are much younger than in other incarnations.
Plus, the title of the show has "Spidey" in the title, probably because Spiderman is something meant for a Peter Parker that's at least an older teenager.

Here are the first two shorts. They're on both the Disney Junior You Tube channel and the Marvel HQ channel.

Some takeways:
- Okay, so Peter and Miles are still known as Spider-Man equally. However, for the sake of avoiding confusion In-Universe, they have adopted "Spidey" and "Spin" respectively. (Web-Ster)
- Peter still has a secret identity from Aunt May, and nearly blows it after rescuing their pet cat. Amusingly, Spidey's WEB-Quarters appears right behind their house briefly prior. (S.O.S Kitty)
- Still getting used to the voices, namely Miles, but they're not bad performances either. They probably one of the youngest takes on his characters yet after all.
- The show continues to look really spectacular on a TV budget, which S.O.S Kitty shows off more in the city action.
- I'm guessing transformation sequences are a thing, going by Spidey's very own Sailor Moon-like look. Notably, the background title still calls him Spider-Man, so I'm wondering what Miles' version looks like.
JP Karliak said that he's voicing The Green Goblin for the series. Justin Shenkarow said he's voicing Rhino.

Here is today's short, Spidey Mystery.
Here is A Helping Hulk.

Armen Taylor voices the Hulk.
According to his second tweet, Maria Estrada is the voice director for the series. That pretty good. She's had plenty of experience with Playhouse Disney and Disney Junior shows, including Higglytown Heroes, Handy Manny (the last few years), Doc Mc Stuffins, Goldie And Bear, and Vampirina season 3.

Here is Spidey Surprise.
Here is Rock A Bye Rhino.
Here is Stop Doc Ock.
Do you know what I find odd in every adaptation that makes Peter, Miles, and Gwen partners and the same age? That Peter and Gwen are basically the same but Miles are two extra powers. It works well when Miles is the new Spider-Man because his powers suppose to make up for his inexperience. But in other versions, he's just randomly stronger and Gwen and Peter don't have anything to make them stand apart? I guess Peter is a tech guy but even that doesn't always stick, for example in the previous cartoon, everyone was Badass Bookworm.
The only adaptation that really made all of the unique is Marvel Ultimate Alliance game. Peter is the most standard but he's The Smart Guy (one of his moves summons Spider-Drone), Miles has camo and electric powers and Gwen has her Web Watch that allows her to travel between dimensions so she can basically teleport.
TV Passport lists something called Meet Spidey And His Amazing Friends airing during the week of June 21. My guess is that these are shorts of some kind to introduce the characters. I'll copy and paste the descriptions.
