The movie is like Silent Hill: Shattered Memories when it comes to the Chimpanzombies. They're destroying Wonder Park because they were possessed by the Darkness, which is created by June's dark desire of wanting it gone ever since her mother has fallen ill and left her. Compare that to the Raw Shocks, created by Cheryl to stop Harry Mason from finding her so that her fantasy world where he survived the car crash (whereas he died from that in reality 18 years ago) would be intact instead of accepting the fact that he's not a hero, but a human being. Makes sense?
It's also like Alan Wake because of the Darkness. Both of the main characters started the story because of the dark entities in their stories.
