OK, here's where this thread is standing, with the unlocking:
Given the widespread backlash and complaining about certain aspects of the work (i.e. Dexit), we wanted to communicate very clearly what we are not willing to put up with: prolonged, circular complaining (or wonking).
Of course, with a controversial subject that has a large impact on the gameplay, Dexit is in one of those areas where there it may be on-topic to discuss it, but the nature of that discussion can wildly vary. As has been said elsewhere, we ix-nayed discussion of Dexit entirely because it never seemed to happen without devolving into that kind of complaining.
However, we're willing to unlock the thread after this 3-day cooldown period because the Pokemon General thread has been stable enough. And -
Can I discuss Dexit?
Yes. But if there is prolonged wonking on it, the thread just becomes an echo chamber of complaints and we do not like that. No one likes that. The same rules as ever apply. Be a constructive, healthy space. Have conversations about what you like, and what you don't like, but the thread should not get locked into a series of bitter complaints.
If you have questions or concerns about mod implementation or action, we have a thread for that here.
Alright? Thank you all for waiting this out. I hope we're all good now.

Oof.
I haven't done enough Max Raid Battles to have really bad experiences with the Pokemon I'm fighting, but the G-Max ones were tough, especially Centiskorch. I did not have anything good against it, so I used the Inteleon my friend gave me when it was a Sobble and tried with that, and even slapped Weather Ball on it in case someone uses Max Rockfall. Shiftry was the next best option, with Rock Slide, but it's x2 weak to Fire and x4 weak to Bug, so that made things worse.
At least I ended up getting it, and that was with multiple attempts due to mostly dying from it, let alone taking it down entirely trying to catch it.

Goddammit, Schezo... || *insert incredibly thirsty copypasta about Dr. Ratio*5-star Obstagoon by far. Its Obstruct move has proven to be more annoying than Malamar's Contrary and Clefable's Minimize.
Does taunt fail on the big guys?
Secret SignatureI just ran into a 5-star Mudsdale that quickly boosted its Defense via Stamina. Even with all its shields gone my level 100 Gyarados could just slightly dent it. Thankfully an NPC Qwilfish decided to be useful and just finish it off with Brine. It's no Drednaw/Obstagoon/Clefable, but I could imagine that thing being annoying.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.I remember a Clefable raid where I was lucky enough to get the Torkoal NPC, since Torkoal can use Smog to clear Clefable's disgusting evasion boosts.
Turns out NPCs can be helpful in higher level raids...once in a blue moon, that is.
I wouldn't miss Centiskorch, especially the G-Max form, if it just disappeared forever. Those raids are darn near impossible, even with a fully EV'd level 90 Eternatus. (Mostly because the majority of the NPCs tend to suck at their job, but still.)
My favorite 5-star so far is a Pyukumuku. It was easy to beat and dropped almost all the best Water TRs at once (Scald, Liquidation, Waterfall, and Surf).
My Megaman and MegaTen liveblogsRe The Hatterene fuckers: Some people probably are aware that she's a tiny fae creature, they just like shorttanks.
I picked 16 because its my favorite number.
I've been inviting Piers to the Champion Cup, but he always gets beaten before the two of us could fight. Did the same thing today, then I saw he was in the same bracket as Leon. Whelp, looks like we'll have to fight next time, Piers.
wouldn't thick fat appletun counter fishious rend
Death is a companion. We should cherish Death as we cherish Life.no, thick fat is for ice and fire
fishious rend is water
"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaThe only Pokemon that can outright counter Fishious Rend Dracovish are Water Absorbers, and maybe a fast Electric type like Jolteon, if it's strong enough.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."My greatest fear is that Game Freak will make complete, healthy versions of the new fossil Pokemon, and they're going to be worse than the horrific abominations, leading to masses of competitive players keeping their crimes against nature and rejecting a life where the Pokemon could actually live happily.
But Dracovish is a doll.
Also you are way too invested into this.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?this is a meme because the abominations are fine
Death is a companion. We should cherish Death as we cherish Life. They are fine but sorta frustrated.
Eh, they seem to function well enough.
Death is a companion. We should cherish Death as we cherish Life.Late to the party, but men of culture pick 42 as their jersey number.
... And that's called jazz! Also late to the party, but I picked 890 (the total number of species in the franchise)
I chose 10. Didn't actually mention when I posed that question.
IMO, the NPCs are awful with their choice of PokΓ©mon, but the moves and items they come with are fine. Like the little Eevee at least can survive a hit because it holds Focus Sash, Torkoal has Smog, etc..
The Eevee also has Helping Hand, which is nice. It'd be even nicer if it didn't have a tendency to use it while the shields are up.
So, Tri Attack is now a TR, and the only Pokemon who would want to use it, Indeedee and Silvally, ALSO get Hyper Voice.
Oh well, Togekiss exploiting Serene Grace with it?
In the case of Silvally, Multi-Attack's BP became 120, so it's usable when Normal-type.
Shame Tri-Attack's usually on Pokemon that don't need it, cuz it's my favorite move. It's just cool to have multiple effects, and very strong in its own right, so it's worth spamming... at least, as spammable as you'd maybe want a Normal-type move to be.

Goddammit, Schezo... || *insert incredibly thirsty copypasta about Dr. Ratio*Tri-Attack Porygon-Z was fun.
Sort of a shame Togekiss can't get STAB on it anymore.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!
Malamar with contrary was more annoying than it was worth, especially with the two shield breaks at 5-stars. But apparently, if you run into a hidden ability Shuckle, itβs the same thing but worse.
