My friends and I turned it into an improvised drinking game. Actually made it pretty fun.

Well, we had subtitles on because not everyone is a native english speaker, so we went with the rule of any time [Ancient Lamentation Plays] appears you take a sip. And frankly, its only overplayed with regards to Diana and the Amazon screentime, which are mostly just in the beginning. Once Flash and Cyborg are introduced it hardly occurs at all.

Just cider, not shots of tequila. Only went through two bottles over the movie, and thats with also just taking casual sips outside of the rule.

There are plenty of real criticisms to be had of the film, using Jello Apocalypse's scale of -10 to 10, with -10 being The Room, 0 being "the point of sheer terrible, absolute boredom", and 10 being whatever you consider the perfect movie, we gave it a -8.

The wail is honestly more of a meme than an actual problem.

Personally I found the movie flawed but enjoyable. But the music did immediately jump out to me as 'whothehellediteditlikethis?' thing.

Its not, that's the point of it being -10 instead of 0. Negative rankings are ironically or memetically enjoyable.

I renamed the thread to more accurately reflect that it's about Ryan George's body of work.

Godzilla Pitch Meeting

I love it when people think we want to watch Godzilla movies to see a bunch of humans running around doing stuff. Fuck me, even Pacific Rim had the grace to put a giant monster fight front and center in the cold open.

Also, killing your headline actor's character partway into the movie so less interesting characters can take his place is tight.

We both know they know we don't want to watch the humans. They just are testing the waters to see how much they can get away with "just filming the incredibly expensive people they've already hired so they don't need to pay for CGI" versus "admitting no one is here for those incredibly expensive people that are on headlining the poster."
